Can cutting really mess with TSH levels? Asking for a friend...or me.

I've been cutting for about a year now, and my latest thyroid TSH labs came back a bit wonky. I know cutting can mess with your hormones, but seeing the numbers kind of freaked me out. I've read so many conflicting things about how being in a deficit affects thyroid function, especially for someone like me who deals with a chronic illness.

I make sure to hit my protein goals, stay hydrated, and focus on nutrient-dense foods. I'm also careful about not going too low on calories. But is it possible that my TSH levels are just part of the process? Or should I consider a refeed or adjust my macros? Just trying to figure out the best way to balance my nutrition with everything going on. Anyone else dealt with this during a cut? What did you do to stabilize things?

Cutting can mess with your body in unexpected ways. I had a friend who had similar issues and had to tweak her diet a ton. Just be aware and make adjustments as you see fit. You got this!

For real, I've had some crazy thyroid numbers when I was too strict with my cut. I ended up eating a slice of cake at a party, and my numbers actually improved after that. Sometimes, a little indulgence can reset things.

Yeah, being in a deficit can really mess with your hormones. i track everything using MacroFactor, and it really helps me see how my body reacts over time. Have u considered tracking your intake to see if any specific macro is causing the fluctuations?

Look, man, I think you need to chill a bit. The TSH numbers might just be a phase of your cutting. Focus on lifting and eating well, and the rest will follow. No need to stress over numbers

I mean, if you're feeling off, why not experiment with some carb cycling? It can work wonders for energy and levels. Just be sure to keep your protein high, man. Don't skimp on the gains!

I can see where you're coming from, but I wouldn't just brush off TSH levels. They can be pretty important for energy and overall health. Balance is key, and a refeed might just be what you need!

I've been cutting while balancing a busy life, and I totally get how hard it can be. Sometimes, it's all about finding that sweet spot for you. I've done higher carb days when I felt low on energy, and it helped a lot!

I think tracking can be really beneficial! I use Cronometer because it gives me detailed nutrient info, which helps with any concerns about deficiencies. Plus, it's super easy to use. Just keep an eye on those micronutrients!

I feel you! When I was cutting, my energy levels were all over the place. One time, I added a couple of high-carb meals, and it felt like I could run a marathon! So, don't hesitate to adjust as needed.

It's not unusual for TSH to fluctuate, especially when cutting. I'd recommend checking in with a doc if you're really concerned, though. Keeping it all in perspective is key. You got to make sure your health is top priority.

TSH levels can be pretty sensitive, especially when you're cutting and dealing with a chronic illness. When I cut, my body reacted differently than I expected. I ended up having to adjust my macros and even took a couple of refeed days just to stabilize things. It might be worth experimenting with your intake.

Dude, tracking macros is the way to go. If you're not already using MyFitnessPal or something similar, you might want to try it out. It's helped me stay on point, even during cuts. Just remember to enjoy your food, too!

I just want to echo what others said about adding some fats and carbs back into your diet. Your body needs those to function properly. If your TSH is off, it might be your body signaling that it needs more variety or calories.

Absolutely agree with seeing a doctor if you're worried! It's better to be safe than sorry, especially with thyroid issues. Plus, sometimes a professional can give insights that apps can't track.

This can definitely mess with your thyroid! When I was prepping for a marathon and cut too aggressively, my TSH was off too. A refeed week helped bring my levels back to normal. Just be gentle with your body while cutting

I completely understand your concerns! When I was cutting, my TSH levels fluctuated too. I found it helpful to incorporate some healthy fats back into my diet, which seemed to stabilize things. Avocados, nuts, and olive oil can be great choices. Plus, they help with satiety and overall health!

100% agree with the need for healthy fats! I was low on them during my cut, and my energy took a hit. Then I added in some nuts and coconut oil, and it was a game changer. Keep your meals balanced!

Facts! i just focus on hitting my protein and lifting heavy. Sometimes I feel like tracking can get overwhelming, but it's good to keep an eye on what you're eating. Makes a big difference in performance and recovery.

Ngl, I don't track anymore. I found intuitive eating works better for me. I listen to my body, and it tells me when I need more or less. Maybe try that if tracking feels like too much pressure right now.
