Is calisthenics actually good for hypertrophy?

I've been lifting for a year and I'm curious about calisthenics for muscle growth. Like, can you really build size with just bodyweight stuff, or is it just hype? I've heard mixed opinions, but I'd love to know if anyone here has seen legit gains from it! Hit me with your thoughts!

You know what's a good combo? Calisthenics and dad strength! I do push-ups with my toddler on my back. Adds resistance, and I get to spend time with the little dude. Win-win.

As a busy mom, I find calisthenics super helpful. I can do a quick workout at home while the kids are playing. My advice is to mix in some heavier lifts when you can, but calisthenics is totally doable and rewarding!

Honestly, I feel like calisthenics is dope but can be tough. I tried push-ups for weeks, and my arms just felt sore, not bigger. Maybe I wasn't pushing hard enough.

Calisthenics can absolutely promote muscle growth, but it's not the same as heavy lifting. Bodyweight movements primarily target endurance and muscle stamina unless you add resistance or modify movements to make them harder. Incorporating weighted variations, like weighted dips or one-arm push-ups, can bridge that gap.

Another thing to consider is your overall training volume. If you're not hitting your Minimum Effective Volume, you might struggle to see growth. Keep that in mind

100%. If you really want hypertrophy, don't shy away from adding resistance. I do weighted calisthenics and it has worked wonders for my growth!

If you're aiming for hypertrophy, consider tracking your progress with calisthenics too. For example, aim for specific rep ranges or try to increase the difficulty of exercises over time. It's a great way to keep pushing your limits.

You mentioned hypertrophy, but don't forget about muscle endurance too. Calisthenics can build that up, which is just as important for overall fitness. Just mix it up.

No cap, calisthenics is legit. I've been focusing on it lately, and I feel stronger overall. Just make sure you're challenging yourself!

I've been mixing calisthenics with my lifting routine for a while now, and I see benefits. My core strength has improved significantly, and my endurance during lifts is up too. Just make sure to balance it with your lifting days, so you don't burn out

I've been hitting calisthenics for about a year, and while my strength has increased, I haven't seen much muscle growth. I think adding weights could help. Just a thought!

Calisthenics can be great for hypertrophy, but it really depends on how you approach it. If you focus on progressive overload, like adding reps or variations to ur bodyweight exercises, you can definitely see gains. Plus, it rly helps with body control and overall functional strength, which is awesome!

This is facts, bro! Push-ups and pull-ups can work if you put in the effort, but make sure you're not slacking on those meals too.

You can build size with calisthenics, but it might take longer than traditional lifting. I'd recommend checking out some progressions for moves like pull-ups or push-ups. Those can be super effective when done correctly.

Calisthenics sounds fun, but do you need a gym for it? I run mostly and don't want to get too bulky. Just curious!

Yo, you can build muscle with calisthenics, but the gains might not be as quick as with heavy weights. I mean, bodyweight squats are cool and all, but throw on a weight vest for real growth. Protein's key too, so don't forget your shakes!

Back in my day, we didn't have all these fancy gym machines. We built strength with push-ups, pull-ups, and good old bodyweight squats. Sure, it takes longer to pack on size compared to lifting heavy, but it's all about dedication and technique.

Meal prep is key when trying to build muscle, regardless of the workout method. Make sure to include protein-rich foods like chicken or tofu in your meals. It all works together!

Calisthenics? More like callisthenics. Just kidding! But seriously, I think it's cool, but I'll stick to pizza and my bench press for gains.
