IBS + macros: How do you manage trigger foods?

TL;DR: How do you manage your macros with IBS and trigger foods?

So I've been lifting for a minute, but IBS is really messing with my macro game lately. I'm trying to hit my protein and carb targets, but my stomach's like, 'Nah fam, not today.' Anyone else here balancing their macro split with IBS? What foods have you found that don't send you running for the bathroom? Help a bro out.

For sure, carbs can be tricky with IBS. I do oats in the morning and I've noticed they digest pretty well for me. Also, make sure you're getting enough fiber, but not too much too quickly!

I can relate to the struggle. IBS is like a wild card! I focus on whole foods, lean meats, and veggies that I know work for me. Definitely avoid processed stuff.

Look into more data-driven options like MacroFactor for tracking. It might help you manage your food intake and identify triggers more efficiently. It's all about fine-tuning your diet with the right tools.

I'm vegan and IBS-friendly, so I've had to get creative! Lentils and chickpeas work for me, but I have to limit them to avoid flare-ups. You might find some cool recipes on plant-based sites.

I like to keep it simple with my meals. Grilled chicken, rice, and some veggies are my go-to. Just keep an eye on portion sizes and how things make you feel. Listen to your body!

Finding the right balance is tough. I started tracking macros with Cronometer, and it helps me see what foods upset my stomach. Just gotta be patient and experiment a bit. You'll figure it out!

Bruh, if you're on a budget, I totally get it. Focus on chicken thighs and frozen veggies, they're usually cheap and pretty easy on the stomach. Prep in bulk and you'll save time and money!

It's tough when you wanna lift heavy and your stomach has other plans! Maybe try lighter meals before workouts. I do that when I run; lighter meals help avoid that bloated feeling.

Why not try some protein bars? There are options that are low FODMAP. You can get your macros in without stressing about your stomach, just make sure to check the ingredients

Facts, protein bars can be a lifesaver! But be careful with which ones you choose. Some can be loaded with stuff that doesn't sit well. I had one that sent me running to the loo, no joke.

Bruh, just eat pizza. It's the ultimate comfort food. 馃槀 But for real, I've found that sticking with low FODMAP stuff helps. It's like a pizza cheat code.

No cap, if something isn't working for you, don't force it. I once tried this super high-protein diet and it wrecked me. Just find what feels good and stick to it.

Totally agree with that last point! I've had to learn the hard way about timing meals around my workouts. Also, mixing things up keeps meals interesting too. Don't let IBS kill your gains!

You might want to try some low FODMAP recipes. Quinoa and zucchini noodles have been great for me. I recently made a dish with chicken, zucchini, and a light sauce that didn't upset my stomach at all. Keeping it simple can really help too!

It's all about trial and error. Just like finding the perfect anime to binge. If something gives you issues, drop it! My gut doesn't play around, so I feel you.

I get where you're coming from. Have you tried keeping a food journal? It helped me identify my trigger foods when training for races. Sometimes it's not just the macros, but how they mix together.

Definitely explore the low FODMAP diet. It helped me a ton when i was struggling. Also, things like yogurt or kefir with live cultures can be great for digestion. You might be surprised at how your body responds!

IBS is a real pain when you're trying to get your macros right. I've had days where I thought I was on track and my stomach just said 'nah' and sent me to the bathroom. Protein shakes are sometimes a safe bet, but gotta be careful with the additives

You gotta find what works for you. Personally, I hit my protein with lean meats and eggs, but carbs? Sweet potatoes and rice are my go-tos. Just stay consistent and track those macros.

Intuitive eating might actually work for you. Just pay attention to how you feel after meals. No need to complicate it with too many apps if you're getting in touch with your body.
