Amputee lifting progress after 1 year - help with tracking and photos?

TL;DR: Looking for tips on tracking lifting progress and taking consistent photos as an amputee lifter after a year.

Hey all, I'm a 31M who has been on this journey for the last year after losing my leg. I went plant-based about 2 years ago, and the combo of lifting and my diet has been insane for my recovery. Over the past year, I've managed to hit a 1RM of 225 lbs on the squat and 150 lbs on the bench press! The journey hasn't been easy, and I have to track my workouts differently, which can get frustrating.

I'm looking for advice on how you guys track your progress effectively, especially if you've got any tips for keeping photos consistent. I want to make sure I can show off these gains in the best light possible! Any thoughts? Would love to hear how you document your progress too.

Have you tried taking progress photos every month? I find it keeps me motivated and allows me to see changes over time. Make sure you keep the angle and lighting similar each time!

Not gonna lie, I love meal prep and it's a game-changer. If you're not prepping your meals, you might miss out on proper nutrition. That could set you back on gains

100%. Consistency in your photos is key. I suggest picking a spot with good lighting and using the same outfit. I always try to take mine right after a workout for the best pump!

I totally get it! Tracking can feel like a chore sometimes. I usually just stick with my fitness journal and keep it simple. Plus, I can doodle in it whenever I need a break from lifting.

Lifting is cool and all, but where's the cardio at? 😂 Just saying, mixing it up can lead to some sweet gains too. Don't forget about those runs!

Being plant-based can be such a boost! Just be sure to track your protein. I use MacroFactor to keep an eye on my macros. It's super easy to log meals and workouts.

I agree with the manual logging. Sometimes it's nice to just write it down. Plus, I can sip on my coffee while I do it. Gotta keep that caffeine fix going!

Right? And honestly, if you're not feeling it one day, it's okay to take a break. Just remember to get back at it. Progress isn't always linear!

If you're looking to track your endurance too, try using Strava. It's awesome for logging your runs or walks, and you can connect with friends for extra motivation. Keeps things fun.

I hear ya! When I started lifting, I just wrote everything down in a notebook. You don't need fancy apps to see progress. Just lift, feel it, and track what works for you

Honestly, tracking workouts can be a pain, especially with different equipment. I use an app called Strong for logging my lifts, it makes tracking progress way easier. Plus, you can see your PRs in a clear format.

When I was recovering from my knee surgery, I kept a manual log. It helped me really reflect on my progress and adjust as needed. Not as fancy as an app, but it felt more personal.

Honestly, I feel like some apps can be a bit overwhelming. Like, who really needs all those charts and graphs? Just lift and enjoy the process, right? Progress pics are way more fun anyway!

Tracking isn't everything though! I like to focus on how I feel during my runs. If I'm feeling strong and enjoying the process, that's a win in my book. Just don't lose sight of the joy in working out.
