16-week wedding cut progress - any tips for the last push?

TL;DR: 16 weeks into my wedding cut, down from 210 to 185 lbs, looking for final tips!

Just wrapped up my 16-week cut for my wedding, and I'm down from 210 lbs to 185 lbs! Hit some solid PRs along the way, bench went from 225 to 250 lbs and deadlift from 405 to 425 lbs. Got a few weeks left, and I'm trying to dial in my macros even more.

Meal prep has been key, sticking to chicken, rice, and veggies. I plan out my meals every Sunday to keep it organized, but any last-minute tips or tweaks would be appreciated. Feeling good, but I wanna nail this final stretch!

Weekly Meal Plan:

  • Breakfast: Oatmeal with protein powder
  • Lunch: Grilled chicken with brown rice and broccoli
  • Dinner: Salmon with quinoa and asparagus
  • Snacks: Greek yogurt, almonds

Let's hear what you guys did for your wedding cuts!

Have you considered gluten-free grains like millet or buckwheat? They're nutritious and can shake up your carb sources while keeping your diet balanced.

Man, hitting those PRs is awesome! Keep focusing on your form, especially as you lift heavier. Injury during a cut would totally suck, especially with a wedding around the corner.

Macros are everything! Keep tracking those carbs and fats closely. If you're feeling sluggish, maybe swap out some rice for a lower-carb veggie option. It might help you stay energized while cutting.

Hey, you're looking awesome! Just remember, it's about the journey too. The number on the scale isn't everything. You're gonna look great on your wedding day no matter what!

Don't forget about food variety. Different nutrients can affect your performance and recovery. Try to mix in different proteins like turkey or plant-based options to keep it interesting.

Ngl, I used to think meal prep was overrated. But now I see how it keeps people on track. Just keep your snacks handy and those workouts will feel easier. Not every day is perfect, and that's fine.

Bro, PRs are lit! Just be careful with overtraining as you push through this cut. Make sure to deload if you start feeling fatigued. Also, try adding in some hypertrophy work if you have time.

Bro, your wedding is gonna be lit! Just don't stress too much about being perfect in these last weeks. Balance is key, enjoy your journey and your special day!

As a mom of three, I totally get the meal prep grind. Maybe involve your family in meal prep, it could be a fun bonding time! Plus, it helps keep everyone on track with healthy eating.

Just keep in mind, balancing fitness and family can be tough. I often swap workouts with playtime with my kids, making it fun while still getting my fitness in!

So proud of your journey! You might wanna play with your protein sources. Salmon is great, but add some tofu or tempeh for variety. And don't forget to have a slice of cake on ur wedding day! You deserve it.

You can totally smash this last few weeks! I love a good wedding story, but remember, you don't have to be perfect. Enjoy the process and keep pushing those weights. It all pays off in the end!

Your transformation is inspiring! Remember to love ur body through this process. You're more than just a number on the scale. Stay confident, and enjoy your wedding day!

Honestly, cardio should be more of your focus as the wedding gets closer. Lifting is great, but don't skip the cardio if you want to really cut down. Maybe try some HIIT sessions for that final push!

Meal prep is everything, I totally agree! You might want to consider adding more variety to your veggies or trying different spices to keep things interesting. You could also try incorporating leaner proteins like turkey or fish to mix it up.

Great job on the progress! For the last few weeks, try adjusting your carb intake around workouts. Maybe lower carbs on rest days and increase them on lifting days to maximize energy while still cutting.

I love your meal plan! Maybe throw in a fun twist like a taco night with lean turkey or cauliflower wraps. It keeps things fresh while still being on track!

Meal prep is great and all, but don't be afraid to have fun with your food. If you're only eating chicken and rice, it might feel like a prison diet. Add some spices or try new recipes!

u/deadlift_dreams·

And seriously, don't skip out on recovery days. If you're feeling drained, take a step back. You want to be at your best for that wedding, not just grinding it out

Love your meal ideas! If you're gluten-free, quinoa is a great choice. For the last stretch, consider including more high-fiber options to keep you full and energized without adding too many calories.

Meal prep is cool and all, but don't forget to actually enjoy your food. Doing HIIT and mixing in some fun activities could also keep you engaged and motivated. CrossFit might not be your thing, but it sure does get people moving!

Dude, with those macros and that meal plan, you're killing it! But for a wedding cut, consider lowering your carbs a bit in the last week. That can help you really dial in your look for those photos. Just make sure you don't go too low!

Oatmeal is solid for breakfast, but if you're looking to switch it up, consider protein pancakes or a smoothie. Gotta keep those meals exciting, right? Also, don't forget about your caffeine! Keeps energy levels high.

3

Lifting at night is my jam, too! If you're feeling tired, a pre-workout might help, but just keep an eye on how late you consume caffeine. Sleep is key during cuts.

Gluten-free doesn't mean boring! There are so many options out there. I've made some amazing gluten-free pasta dishes that could work great for your meal prep!

Honestly, it's about finding what works for you. Some days, a cup of coffee and some protein will do wonders for my workouts. Just see how your body responds!

8

Solid progress! Just a heads up, make sure your caffeine intake isn't too high. I used to crash hard on cut days because I relied too much on coffee. Keep your energy levels steady!

12

Solid meals, but don't forget to hydrate! Water can really help with your energy levels and performance, especially during this final stretch. Maybe add some electrolytes too if you're sweating a lot.

Honestly, cardio can help with your cut! I'd suggest incorporating HIIT sessions a couple of times a week. It burns calories and keeps your metabolism high without sacrificing muscle

Make sure to take care of your mental health too! Stress can affect your body in ways you wouldn't believe. Spend time relaxing and enjoying the moments leading up to your wedding.

7
u/late_night_lifter·

Pro tip: late-night lifting might help you take advantage of quieter gym times! Plus, it can be a stress-reliever to get that workout in after a long day. Just don't skip your pre-workout snack!

7

As an endurance athlete, I can't stress enough how important hydration is! Make sure you're drinking enough water, especially as you cut. It can really help with energy levels.

You've done amazing, congrats! As a busy mom, I'd say keep your meals simple but effective. Quick stir-fry or sheet pan meals work well for family dinners and can be adjusted for your cut.

6
u/yoga_flex·

Remember to incorporate some mindful eating practices. It helps with cravings and keeps you present with your meals. This can be especially useful during the last stretch of your cut.

6
u/deadlift_dreams·

Kudos on those PRs! As for the final push, try incorporating some drop sets or AMRAPs to really test your limits. If you're feeling stuck, maybe try a new program like nSuns for your last weeks!

If you're tracking macros, I'd recommend using MacroFactor. It's pretty user-friendly and adjusts to your needs over time. I had some solid results using it during my cut too
