Dips for tris, how deep we talkin'?

TL;DR: Wondering if the depth of dips really affects tricep gains.

So I'm all about those dips for my tris, but like, does depth really matter? I see some guys going low enough to make a pizza delivery guy jealous, but is that where the gains are? Or is half-assing it still worth it? Asking for my arms (and my love for pizza).

Going deep is where the magic happens, my dude. But let's be real, if you're not getting pizza after a workout, are you even lifting? 馃崟

Depth in dips plays a crucial role in targeting the triceps effectively. Studies show that going lower activates more muscle fibers in that area, which can lead to better hypertrophy over time. As someone who focuses on aesthetics, I prioritize deep dips. Just make sure to warm up those shoulders properly.

100% agree with going deep! It's like the difference between just making a pizza and making a five-star pizza. It's all about those details! More depth equals more gains.

For me, dips are all about form. You can go deep, but if you're not engaging the right muscles, it won't matter. Try to keep your elbows tucked to avoid shoulder strain.

Dips are great for triceps, but depth does matter! When you go deeper, you're engaging more muscle fibers. I remember when I first started, I thought I was doing fine with half reps. But once I started going lower, my gains really took off. Just be careful about shoulder strain if you go super low.

I'd say aim for a depth that feels comfortable but challenges you. Half-repping might give you some results, but you're missing out on the full range of motion. Try to gradually work on going deeper while maintaining good form. Your triceps will thank you.

I really appreciate this discussion! As a busy mom, it's tough to find time for workouts, and I want to make the most of it. I've been focusing on dips lately, and I think I'll start aiming for deeper reps. Just gotta be careful not to push too hard and injure myself! It's all about finding that balance.

I like to do dips with a slight lean forward to target the triceps better. Also, don't forget about your nutrition. Protein-rich snacks post-workout can help those gains! I like cottage cheese with fruit; it's a solid choice.

I don't get why some people skip depth. Like, if you want tricep gains, you can't just half-ass it! Push yourself, it pays off. But also, don't neglect other lifts. Balancing everything is key.

You might want to reconsider that approach. Half-repping just doesn't cut it if you're serious about building strength. There's plenty of research backing full range of motion for optimal muscle engagement. If you care about your progress, depth should be a priority.

Just don't end up like me trying to impress my buddies and going too deep! Ended up with shoulder pain for weeks. Just listen to your body; it'll let you know when you're pushing too far.
