Two Years Post-Spinal Fusion: Progress Photos and Lifting Back
I had a spinal fusion two years ago and was uncertain about lifting again. I started lifting light weights just a few months post-surgery and gradually increased my loads. Currently, my lifts are close to my pre-surgery levels, with a deadlift at 315 lbs and squat at 275 lbs, both for 5 reps.
Here's a comparison of my progress:
| Lift | Pre-Surgery (lbs) | Current (lbs) | Change (lbs) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deadlift | 365 | 315 | -50 |
| Squat | 300 | 275 | -25 |
It's been a challenging journey, but I'm proud of the progress I've made. Just remember to listen to your body and consult with your healthcare team before getting back to lifting! Anyone else with a similar experience? What helped you get back to your routine?
