Is it normal to feel a bit lost during my recomp journey?

TL;DR: Feeling a bit lost during my recomp journey from 110 lbs to 125 lbs, with a deadlift of 185 lbs. Is this normal?

I've been on my recomp journey for about six months now, transitioning from a scrawny frame to building strength. I started at 110 lbs and am now at 125 lbs, and my deadlift just hit 185 lbs for 5 reps. I've been taking photos along the way, and while I can see some progress, I still feel disconnected sometimes. Balancing the physical with mindfulness has been a challenge. Does anyone else experience this feeling during their transformation?

Feeling lost during a recomp is super common! I went through a similar phase around the 6-month mark, too. It's like you're doing all this work, but the mental side just doesn't click. I found journaling about my experiences and feelings helped me reconnect with my goals. Sometimes we just need that little mental reset.

I totally get that. The deadlift progress is impressive, but the mental game can be tricky. Have you tried tracking your macros or using an app like MacroFactor? It can provide more clarity and help you stay mindful about what you're eating. Plus, it tracks your progress with a ton of insights! Seeing everything laid out visually can be a real motivator.

100! It's like, sometimes you feel like you're in this weird limbo. I remember hitting a plateau with my lifts, and it messed with my head. But I started focusing on my body composition instead of just numbers. Switching things up can help reignite that motivation! Have you considered trying a new program or workout style?

Ngl, tracking can feel like a hassle, but it doesn't have to be. I use MyFitnessPal, and it's helped me so much. Just keeping a simple log of my meals and snacks keeps me aware of what I'm putting in my body. Plus, it's like a game! Trying to hit my targets becomes fun instead of tedious.

You might also want to check your fiber intake. I see a lot of folks overlook how crucial it is for overall health, especially during a recomp. Plus, it helps with digestion and keeps you full. You might be surprised how that little change can help your mental clarity too.

This shit is real! Sometimes you just need to change it up. I've lifted at odd hours and trust me, caffeine can be a lifesaver for those late-night workouts. It keeps your energy up, and you might find a new routine that feels refreshing! Plus, who doesn't love lifting when it's quieter?

I hear you! Balancing the physical with the mental can be a rollercoaster, especially with all the life stuff going on. As a working mom, I lift to relieve stress too. When I started feeling disconnected, I began setting small, achievable goals each week. It helped me celebrate little wins, keeping my mind in the game.

Bruh, it's all about self-love! If you're feeling lost, remember it's a journey, not a race. I hit a point where I wasn't seeing the results I wanted, and I had to remind myself that progress isn't always visible. Take time for yourself, enjoy the process, and love your body where it is right now.
