Anyone else lifting through the blues? Pics from my 1-year progress!

TL;DR: Lifting through depression for a year, looking for motivation tips!

So, I just hit the 1-year mark of lifting while navigating some serious depression, and I'm feeling all kinds of mixed emotions! 馃 I've gone from 145 lbs to 175 lbs, and my deadlift went from a struggling 135 to a solid 225. Sharing my progress pics below, need some good vibes and maybe some tips on staying motivated when the mind's a bit of a mess. Anyone else been in this boat? How do you keep pushing through?

Congrats on the progress! Hitting those deadlifts while dealing with depression is no joke. Just remember, lifting is a great outlet but don't ignore the mental side too. Have you thought about talking to someone or trying mindfulness techniques?

Facts, lifting can be therapeutic, but the diet part can also mess with your head. Have you tried tracking macros on an app? MacroFactor is pretty solid and helps with food choices without making it a chore.

Lowkey, if you're tracking calories, maybe try keeping it simple with a food journal? Sometimes writing it down feels less stressful than apps. What snacks are you loving right now? Healthy snacking is key!

Meal prep is key for keeping your diet in check. I usually make chicken and broccoli for the week and it's a lifesaver. What's your go-to post-workout meal? Gotta make sure you're refueling right.

I ran a half marathon when I was feeling down and it really helped! It's amazing what movement can do for your mindset. Have you ever thought about mixing in some cardio? Just a thought

Some people say lifting is better than therapy, but let's be real, both are important! You've got a great foundation with your progress. Why not add in some kettlebell work for fun? It's a nice change of pace.

Mindfulness can be key when pushing through tough times. Consider incorporating some yoga or meditation into your routine. It helps balance the mind and body, and can be a nice complement to your lifting sessions.

This! Lifting while feeling low is a real challenge, but you're doing it. My 1RM on deadlifts went up 50 lbs in 6 months. Just try to focus on those small wins every day

I can relate! I lift to relieve stress and it works wonders. Don't be too hard on yourself if you have off days. Just keep showing up, even if it's not your best day at the gym.
