How do long-haul truck drivers hit their macros on the road?

TL;DR: Looking for macro tips for a long-haul truck driver friend.

I'm a 30F who loves hitting the gym and lifting, but I've been thinking about my friend who's a long-haul truck driver. With all that time on the road, it seems tough to stay on top of macros. I want to help him out! What are some tips or strategies he can use to hit protein targets and maintain good nutrition while driving for long hours? Anyone have experience with this?

Staying healthy on the road is tough, but with some planning, he can do it. Investing in a good insulated lunch bag and prepping meals can really change the game.

That's a great question! Meal prepping can be super helpful. If he prepares high-protein snacks, like hard-boiled eggs or protein bars, he can easily grab them while driving.

I used to be on the road a lot. I'd pack grilled chicken and veggies in Tupperware. It's hard to eat healthy on the go, but planning really helps.

This shit gets tricky. He could use a cooler with some ice packs to keep meals fresh. I did that when I worked night shifts and it made a big difference.

Honestly, I can relate. I drive a lot for work too. I pack protein shakes and snacks for long trips, but I sometimes end up raiding the kids' snack stash. 😅

Ngl, it's a struggle for me too. I try to pack healthy snacks, but sometimes those fast food stops call my name. I just have to embrace the struggle sometimes.

Yep, definitely need to track those macros. I'd suggest using an app like MyFitnessPal. It's super easy to log meals and snacks on the go.

Bro, those protein bars can be a trap. Some have way too much sugar. Stick with brands like Quest or RXBAR that keep it real with their ingredients.

100! Protein shakes are lifesavers. I keep a blender bottle and some whey on hand. Just mix it with water or milk for an easy protein boost between stops.

Long drives can be tough! If he likes to run, I'd suggest taking a break for a quick jog or stretch at rest stops. It helps break up the drive and keeps energy up!
