How do I ease back into lifting after 2 weeks off?

I took a 2 week break and now I'm itching to get back in the gym, but I don't want to fry my muscles right off the bat. What are some good ways to ease back in without going full beast mode? I've been thinking about starting lighter and focusing on form, but what else should I keep in mind? Let's hear your hacks!

Bro, it's all about finding that balance. Pizza has been my go-to post-workout snack since I took a break, and now I'm back at it! 🍕 Just don't overdo it and end up in pizza coma. Just keep it chill.

Facts! If you push too hard right away, you're just asking for trouble. I'd recommend setting realistic goals for your first week back, like hitting 70% of your normal lifts and focusing on your technique. Remember that your body needs time to adapt, so no need to rush. You can always adjust your training split once you feel comfortable.

Yep! Start light and focus on form. It's like reprogramming your muscles after a break. Also, maybe sip on some pre-workout if you're missing that gym vibe! A lil' caffeine boost never hurt anyone.

As a gym owner, i've seen many people jump back in too hard after a break. It's a recipe for injury. I'd recommend doing a full body workout with lighter weights, maybe 60% of your usual. Hit the compound lifts but cut your volume. Think 3 sets of 8-10 reps. You'll keep your gains while easing back in.

I call BS on the whole 'muscle memory' thing. You can't just skip back to where you were without a ramp-up phase. I've done it, and it led to an injury that sidelined me for months. Take your time and listen to your body. It's better to be safe than sorry

Ngl, I always end up too hyped after a break and push too hard. It sucks when you're sore for a week straight! Just take it easy and remember that you can build back up without killing yourself. Give it a week or two and you'll be back to your old self.

I totally get it! After my last break, I started with a 50% drop from my max lifts and focused on those clean reps. Got my body used to the motions again, and it felt awesome! Plus, I kept my protein pancakes in my routine, which kept me energized.

You guys are missing the science! Muscle memory is a real thing, but going too hard too soon can lead to excessive DOMS or worse. Studies show that you should focus on a gradual increase in intensity over the first 2-3 weeks back. Start with 2 RIR on your major lifts, and keep your workout sessions shorter, like 45-60 mins max. Don't forget to fuel up with some creatine mono to help with recovery!
