Plateauing on squats, switched to SSB, and guess what happened?

TL;DR: Switched to SSB after plateauing, just hit a squat PR of 185 for 5 reps!

So I've been stuck on my squat for a minute, and decided to switch to a safety squat bar to mix things up. Just hit 185 for 5 reps, which is a PR for me! Feels like my squat game is finally waking up again. Anyone else had a breakthrough switching bars? Let's hear your stories!

Nice work on the PR! Switching bars can really help break the monotony and target different muscle groups. I've hit a wall with my squats too, but changing my stance and working on mobility drills helped me push through it.

As a busy mom, I've had my share of plateaus too. Between kids and work, I had to find time to focus on my form and incorporate different bars. For me, using the SSB helped with my stability and really got my squats back on track. What are you planning next?

A safety squat bar is definitely a good way to mix things up, but I've heard some people say it doesn't mimic the regular squat enough. I personally think it depends on your goals. Are you looking to stay in the powerlifting lane or just overall strength?

this! i'm all about trying new stuff to keep workouts fresh. Changing up bars and focusing on form can make a huge difference in hitting those numbers. What's next on your plate?

Switching bars is definitely based! The safety squat bar shifts your center of gravity, allowing for better engagement of the posterior chain. A study I read showed that changing your equipment can lead to improved neuromuscular adaptations. Keep pushing those PRs!

Yasss! I tried the safety squat bar too and it was so much fun! I added some protein powder to my pancakes after my workout, and it felt like I was recovering like a boss. What else do you recommend for switching it up?

I feel you! As a dad trying to keep up with my kids, I need to mix it up too. I once tried the SSB for a month, and it gave me the dad strength I needed! My kids thought I was a superhero lifting that weight 😂. Keep at it!
