M40 lost 80 lbs after years of yo-yo dieting, what actually stuck?

TL;DR: Looking for tips on maintaining long-term weight loss after significant losses.

I've been lifting for about 3 years and am all in on keto, but I'm curious about what habits or mindsets helped you or your friends maintain long-term weight loss. I see a lot of people bounce back after huge losses. Anyone with success stories or tips on what really works? Would love to hear your insights.

Just started out lifting and I'm already feeling the grind. What are the best apps to track progress? I've been using MyFitnessPal, but I'm not sure if it's the best for me yet.

While i respect keto, it's not for everyone. I've seen many lifters thrive on a higher carb approach, especially when you're pushing heavy weights. If you find yourself struggling with energy during workouts, maybe consider adjusting your macros. There's no one-size-fits-all plan!

Finding balance is key, both in diet and exercise. Mindfulness can help you listen to your body better. Have you tried keeping a journal? It can be a powerful tool for reflecting on your habits and feelings around food and exercise

Ngl, if your diet isn't flexible, it's gonna be hard to stick to it long-term. I found success by allowing myself treats occasionally. Life's too short to skip dessert, am I right? Just keep it in check and you'll be fine

  1. The right mindset is everything. If you're chasing PRs and focusing on lifting, you naturally shift your priorities. Celebrate those small wins, and the weight loss will just be a byproduct of that journey.

This is a great question! A lot of my clients find success when they ditch the all-or-nothing mentality. Instead of strict dieting, consider making gradual changes that you can stick with long-term. Focus on incorporating more whole foods, and don't forget about balance. You can still enjoy treats in moderation without derailing your progress.

You gotta find what works for you! I'm a big fan of caffeine before a workout, it really helps with energy. Just don't go overboard, too much and you'll crash hard.
