Budget Mediterranean Meals While Lifting: Is $70 a Week Enough?
So, I'm a 38-year-old dad with two kids, and between soccer practice and school projects, my budget for groceries is about $70 a week. I'm trying to stick to a Mediterranean diet while also getting enough protein to support my lifting habits, but man, it's a juggling act.
I want to hit my macros, but the kids' snack preferences can really put a dent in my plans. I'm aiming for whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats, but I find myself debating if I should buy the fancy olive oil or just grab a couple more pounds of chicken. Do any of you have strategies for eating healthy on a budget, especially for Mediterranean meals? I'd love to hear how you manage your nutrition while keeping costs down.
I've been thinking about prepping meals in advance and maybe using intermittent fasting to help with hunger, but I'm not sure how to balance that with family dinners. Any tips would be appreciated!
