Is apple cider vinegar really the fat loss miracle we thought it was?

TL;DR: ACV isn't a miracle fat loss solution, just a tiny help, if any.

So I've been hearing all this hype about apple cider vinegar (ACV) being the secret to fat loss. I decided to look into the science because, honestly, I'm just a newbie powerlifter trying to navigate the sea of fitness myths. Turns out, while some studies suggest that ACV may help with weight management, the effect sizes are pretty small! A study published in the Journal of Functional Foods found that participants who took ACV lost about 2.6 pounds over 12 weeks, which isn't exactly groundbreaking (Kondo et al., 2009). So, if you're banking on ACV to shred those pounds, you might want to rethink that strategy. Just eat those bears... I mean, carbs in moderation and keep lifting heavy. 馃惢

Facts. I'd rather eat a donut than drink vinegar every day. Like, what even is that? I'm just tryna snack and lift, not join a science experiment. 馃槀

Ngl, I thought about using ACV to replace salad dressing for a while. But then I remembered I love my ranch too much. No way I'm giving that up for vinegar. 馃槀

I think the hype around ACV stems from its health benefits, like possibly lowering blood sugar levels and improving gut health. But relying solely on it for weight loss is a mistake. A whole-food, plant-based diet with plenty of protein and nutrients will do wonders for your body and mind.

Tracking macros has been my lifesaver. ACV is cool if you like it, but you can't out-supplement a bad diet. Focus on your intake and make sure you're getting enough protein. That's where the real progress is.

Honestly, this whole ACV thing is just another fad. I've been lifting for years and seen so many trends come and go. Just get your protein in, lift heavy, and forget the weird stuff. Real talk.

As someone who lifts when I can, I just don't have time for the gimmicks. Meal prepping with healthy choices and hitting the gym when I can is my go-to. ACV can wait.

This is such a good reminder! I tried ACV for a bit because I heard it helps with fat loss, but honestly, I didn't notice anything significant. Just lifting and eating carbs has been way better for my gains. 馃惢

i lowkey tried to down some ACV before a workout and it was awful. Like, I thought I'd throw up, lol. I'll stick to my pizza as my pre-workout snack, thanks.

Yeah, the science is pretty clear on this one. The studies show minor effects, and the body has to be in a calorie deficit for real fat loss to occur. ACV might help with digestion or something, but it's no miracle

Solid point. I've been lifting for years and never saw any miraculous fat loss from ACV. Just focusing on a solid program, proper nutrition, and consistency has been the best strategy. ACV can be part of a diet, but it's not the main player.

I feel that! I used to try every trendy supplement thinking it would be the answer. Now, I just focus on my lifts and eating right. Feels much better to actually enjoy my food.

Oh my gosh, I've made some delicious recipes with ACV! It's great in dressings and adds flavor without extra calories. But yeah, I agree it's not a fat loss magic potion. Just gotta keep eating good and lifting hard!

Yes! Focusing on whole foods and lifting has been the best combo for me. I've struggled with fad diets, but now im prioritizing strength and health, which feels much better. You've gotta do what makes you feel good.

I think it's all about finding what works for you. If someone likes ACV, cool. But it shouldn't replace real nutrition. Just lift weights and eat balanced meals.

As a busy mom, I find it easier to focus on whole foods and balanced meals rather than gimmicks like ACV. Meal prepping and keeping it simple helps me stay on track. Plus, kids love my healthy recipes! Balance is key
