Is weighing food a must for accurate tracking?

TL;DR: Weighing food can significantly improve tracking accuracy for calories and macros.

As someone who loves meal prepping and has been at this for five years, I've seen how weighing food can really change the game for tracking calories. Many folks think they can eyeball their portions, but that often leads to inaccuracies, especially when you're trying to hit specific macros or maintain a deficit. If you've ever plateaued, it might be worth reconsidering how precise your tracking is.

Apps like MyFitnessPal and MacroFactor offer fantastic features, but unless you're weighing your food, those numbers might be off. Even small discrepancies can add up over time. I encourage everyone to invest in a decent kitchen scale, especially if you want to make real progress. For me, it took my tracking from vague guesswork to something concrete and actionable. If you haven't tried weighing your meals yet, I highly recommend giving it a shot! What's your experience with it?

Weighing food can be very calming for tracking, especially if you're feeling overwhelmed with all the choices we face. Just remember to enjoy the process and listen to your body too.

I completely agree with you about weighing food! When I started meal prepping, I thought I could just eyeball everything, but I was shocked at how off my portions were. I invested in a kitchen scale, and it really transformed my tracking. It helps me stay accountable, and I feel so much more in control of my nutrition.

Facts. I thought I was measuring my oats right, but I was way off. Now I weigh them and I actually get to enjoy my morning coffee instead of stressing over my macros!

For real though, weighing food can make or break your gains. I used to skip it, but once I started measuring, my lifts improved because my nutrition was on point. Don't underestimate it!

I do think weighing is a must for everyone, but as a vegan powerlifter, I've found that certain foods can be tricky. Some plant-based items can vary a lot in weight. I just focus on my overall intake and aim for balanced meals instead.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to underestimate your food portions. If you're trying to cut, even a small difference can set you back a week! I've seen my plateaus disappear once I started weighing. It takes a few extra minutes but it's totally worth it.

100! When I first started, I thought I could just wing it. I ended up overestimating my protein intake. Now I weigh everything, and my gains have been so much better. It's all about those little details adding up!

I get the appeal of eyeballing portions, but it's so easy to underestimate! I track everything, and it's helped me stay on point with my macros. If you're serious about your goals, measuring is the way to go.

Ngl, weighing food seems tedious at first. But once you see the results, it's like switching to an 8-bit game to 4K graphics! I've seen my strength improve so much since I got precise.

Honestly, who has time to weigh food? I'm a college student, so I just use cups and guess. But my pancakes still taste bomb, so I'm kinda vibing with that.

This shit works, no cap. If you're plateauing, maybe it's time to admit your eyeball skills are not as good as you think. Weighing can help you find those sneaky extra calories
