Can you lift and cut after a heart attack? Seeking tips and progress pics.

TL;DR: Recovering from a heart attack and trying to lift while cutting; seeking tips and progress photos.

I had a heart attack about 6 months ago and am now cleared to lift again. I want to cut down some body fat while improving my strength. My current lifts are at 75% of my pre-attack levels, and I'm focusing on hitting a 1RM of 200 lbs on squat again. I've read about fiber's role in recovery and overall health, but I need more practical advice on balancing lifting with cutting. Anyone else been through something similar? Would love to see your progress photos too!

You know, lifting in your 60s after a heart issue is definitely possible! i've seen many people thrive post-recovery. Just focus on form and don't be afraid to modify your workouts as needed. Strength comes back with patience and care

Running has been my go-to since my own health scare. You might want to try some light jogging or brisk walking alongside your lifting routine. Cardio can really help with fat loss and can improve your heart health without stressing your body too much.

It's great that you're cleared to lift again after a heart attack. For cutting while lifting, focus on a high-protein diet and increase your fiber intake to keep you feeling full. Foods like beans, lentils, and whole grains can help with both fiber and protein

If you're going keto, make sure you're still getting enough electrolytes to avoid the keto flu. Cutting carbs can be tough, but increasing healthy fats can help with energy levels while you're lifting. Just keep your protein high and watch your overall caloric deficit!

Keep in mind that your recovery is just as important as your lifting. After a heart attack, prioritize your cardiovascular health alongside lifting. Maybe integrate some light cardio post-lifting to support your heart health while cutting. Monitoring your heart rate during workouts can be useful too

I can't stress enough how important it is to listen to your body. If you feel too fatigued from cutting, adjust your calorie deficit accordingly. On the gluten-free front, there are plenty of great options out there like quinoa and buckwheat that can keep your meals interesting while you cut.

Cutting after a heart attack requires a gentle approach. Incorporating mindfulness techniques like meditation can help manage stress and cravings. I suggest tracking your meals in an app like MyFitnessPal to find a balance between lifting and cutting. You want to prioritize whole foods that promote recovery while still keeping an eye on calorie intake.

Bro, when I was cutting for my first show, meal prep saved my ass. I'd spend Sundays cooking chicken and broccoli for the week. If you can prep your meals, you'll be less tempted to snack on junk. And don't forget to hydrate. Water's your best friend when cutting.

If you're lifting heavy and cutting, please don't start doing CrossFit on top of that. It's a recipe for disaster, especially with ur history. Stick to what you know and focus on controlled lifting with proper rest periods.
