Just quit my SSRI and started lifting, check out my progress photos!

TL;DR: Quit my SSRI, started lifting, gained 10 lbs and hitting PRs. Here are my progress photos!

So, I just wrapped up my first month of lifting after quitting my SSRI and I feel like a new person! 馃殌 I'm totally loving the gains, started at 155 lbs and now I'm at 165 lbs! My bench went from a sad 135 lbs to 155 lbs. Here's a side-by-side of my progress:

This is fire! I love that you're feeling pumped about lifting. Have you tried any cardio to mix things up? Running or cycling can be great for recovery days.

You gotta try some plant-based protein sources too! I started lifting at 150 lbs and now I'm sitting pretty at 180 lbs. Vegan protein shakes are a game changer. Plus, they're super easy to digest after a workout.

Just a heads-up, lifting is awesome, but don't forget to eat right. I learned the hard way that snack choices can seriously affect performance. Make sure you're balancing your meals. I love hummus and veggies or peanut butter on whole grain toast. Quick and satisfying!

Quitting meds can be a tough road. I found that focusing on my lifting and setting goals really helped me. With kids running around, I make sure to get in at least 30 minutes of lifting 4 times a week. Do you have a specific lifting routine? Sometimes switching things up can give you an extra boost

You're making great progress, and I'm so happy for you! It's vital to find what works for you, especially when you're managing mental health. I lift at home while keeping an eye on my kids, and it's been a lifesaver. Just remember to listen to your body and take rest days when needed.

Not to rain on ur parade, but just switching to lifting doesn't mean everything's perfect. A lot of people think they'll magically feel better after stopping meds and that's just not how it works. Make sure you're checking in with a therapist or something if you're feeling off.

That's awesome to hear! I went through a similar transition when I quit my antidepressants a few years back. The energy boost from lifting has been huge for me. I was at 190 lbs and dropped down to 175 while gaining muscle. It feels like a fresh start. Have you thought about tracking your lifts and nutrition? It really helps keep you accountable

Bro, those are some solid gains! Don't let anyone tell you that lifting isn't the answer. i went from 140 to 185 lbs in a year. Keep pushing those limits and track ur lifts, it's all about progression, man.

It's so inspiring to see someone transform like this at any age! When I started lifting in my 50s, I was just looking for a way to feel strong and empowered. The gains may not always be huge, but the mental benefits are priceless. Celebrate every small victory.
