How do I fit Russian cuisine into my macro goals?

TL;DR: Need help fitting Russian cuisine into my macros

So, I've been getting my lift on for 3 years now, but I can't figure out how to handle my love for Russian food while keeping my macros in check. Like, borscht is life, but can I rly count that towards my protein goals? Also, what's the deal with all the carbs in pelmeni? Any tips on how to enjoy this stuff without sacrificing my gains? Asking for a friend (me).

Russian cuisine can be so rich and flavorful, but fitting it into macros is definitely a challenge. Borscht can be low-cal and full of veggies, so count those carbs, but it doesn't pack a protein punch. For pelmeni, try using lean ground meats or a plant-based protein to make them more macro-friendly. Also, consider making a veggie-heavy side dish to balance things out. I love a good buckwheat salad on the side!

I totally get the struggle! Borscht is amazing, but it's mainly carbs from beets and potatoes. You could try adding a protein source, like chicken or beans, to boost your protein intake without sacrificing flavor. Have you thought about meal prepping some dishes to help with your tracking?

Ngl, pelmeni have a lot of carbs and fat depending on the filling. If you love them, maybe limit how often you have them and focus on protein on other days. It's all about balance, right? Just try tracking with something like MyFitnessPal to see where you stand.

Russian food is no joke! I get it, pelmeni are like little dumplings of heaven, but man, those carbs can stack up fast. Maybe try making them with a cauliflower or whole wheat dough to cut back a bit? Also, if you're lactose intolerant, just skip the sour cream on top. You don't wanna blow up in the gym!

facts, you gotta find that balance! I've been adding tofu or lentils to dishes like borscht for extra protein. It's all about experimenting while keeping the love for the food alive. And honestly, if you can, try intuitive eating; just listen to your body and enjoy what you love. That's how it should be, right?

I can relate! I tried to keep my macros in check while loving all the carbs from my mom's cooking. You can have pelmeni but maybe keep it to a side dish instead of the main course. Just remember to hit your protein goals with chicken or legumes during the day! You don't wanna skip out on those gains.

Borscht can be pretty filling, but don't expect it to hit your protein goals. You could supplement with Greek yogurt or some protein powder if you really want to enjoy it without guilt. I sometimes whip up a beet salad with feta and chickpeas for added protein and flavor. Just be mindful of those portions.
