Does running really ruin your knees? What do the studies say?
I've heard so many people claim that running wrecks your knees, but im curious about the actual evidence. Some studies suggest that recreational runners have lower rates of knee osteoarthritis compared to non-runners. For instance, a study published in the Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy found that long-term running might not lead to more knee injuries than other activities. So, what's the deal? Are we all just scared of a little pavement pounding for no reason? Anyone got some solid studies to share?
