Progress Update: 20 Pounds Down and Counting!

TL;DR: Lost 20 pounds in 3 months using MacroFactor while juggling dad life.

So, I've been tracking my calories for about three months now using MacroFactor, and I'm down 20 pounds! It's been a wild ride, especially with two kids running around. I weigh my food when I can, but I also estimate a lot when we're at restaurants, like, I just eyeball my burger and fries, hoping I'm close enough to reality. The app is pretty spot-on, but I still struggle with plateaus; my TDEE seems to shift when my activity levels change. If you're a dad like me, just know that it's totally fine to have a dad bod while chasing those fitness goals! Keep pushing, fellas.

I love that you're encouraging the dad bod vibe! Balance is key. Just remember to also take care of your mental health through exercise. Finding that zen in the chaos of parenting is so important for your overall well-being.

Congrats on the 20 pounds, that's no small feat! Balancing fitness with kids is like juggling chainsaws sometimes, but it's totally doable. I've found that making healthy snacks available helps when I'm running around with my little ones. Plus, when we hit restaurants, I do the same thing - just eyeball it and hope for the best.

That's awesome progress! Plateaus can be so frustrating. Maybe mix up your workouts or try adding some cardio if you're not doing it already. It can help kickstart that progress again and keep things interesting!

Honestly, plateaus suck. i've been there more times than I can count, and it really messes with your head. Some days, I feel like I'm grinding at the gym for nothing. But I try to remind myself that progress isn't always linear, and sometimes you just gotta ride it out. Also, my fridge is like a graveyard for protein bars that never made it into my macros.

Love the vibe of this post! Cooking healthy meals at home is a game-changer. Try making some protein pancakes with extra oats for an easy meal prep option. They taste amazing and are perfect for breakfast or a snack!

100! Tracking is everything! If you ever want to try something fun, make protein pancakes with fairlife milk for a solid breakfast. It's low-key bomb, and you'll feel good about fueling up right!

I think it's important to remember that eyeballing isn't always accurate. If you keep estimating, those calories can add up quick, especially with restaurant portions. Have you thought about using a food scale when you're home? It might help refine your tracking.

Yep, keep pushing through! Sometimes, all it takes is a slight change in routine to see results again. Maybe increase your weights or switch your rep range? Just remember to enjoy the journey, not just the destination.

If you're hitting a plateau, have you tried adjusting your coffee intake? Caffeine can seriously boost your energy during workouts. I like to have a cup before hitting the gym, and it really helps me power through. Just a thought!

Great work! Have you thought about trying heavier lifts? Increasing the load can push through plateaus. Focus on your compound lifts, like squats and deadlifts. They'll give you the best bang for your buck in terms of strength and muscle gain.
