Feeling overwhelmed by all the gym options, where should I start?

TL;DR: Looking for beginner lifting program recommendations!

I'm super excited to dive into lifting but honestly, the number of programs out there is a bit overwhelming! I want something that's great for beginners and helps me build a solid foundation without getting too complicated. Do you all have any recommendations for a first program? Thanks for any tips!

Honestly, lifting felt like therapy for me too. The first month I was just figuring out the machines, and then I found a groove. I still have days when I dread going, but then I lift, and it helps clear my mind. Just remember, it's okay to feel overwhelmed, you're not alone in this.

Starting with a simple full-body workout routine is a solid move. You could try something like StrongLifts 5x5, it's straightforward and focuses on the major lifts. Plus, you'll get comfortable with the barbell pretty quickly

This! I love making protein pancakes for breakfast after lifting. They taste bomb and fuel my workouts. A good pre-gym snack is key!

Starting with a balanced routine that includes strength training and flexibility work can be really beneficial. Maybe try to incorporate some yoga or stretching too. It can help prevent injuries as you start lifting.

Facts. I remember my first time at the gym, I was like a deer in headlights. It's wild how many programs exist. Just keep it simple, and don't stress if you feel lost at first.

If you're tracking macros, try to hit around 1g of protein per pound of body weight. It makes a difference in recovery. Consistent nutrition combined with a solid lifting program is a strong combo.

Lowkey if you want quick gains, try a push-pull-legs split. It's flexible and covers all your bases. Plus, you can adjust it based on your schedule.

I agree, but don't overcomplicate it with tracking everything right away. Just get in there and lift. Focus on finding a routine that you enjoy and fits your lifestyle. You'll figure out the rest as you go along.

I get the overwhelm, dude. There's a ton of info out there. Just focus on compound movements at first, like squats, deadlifts, and bench presses. They'll build a good base for strength and muscle. And don't forget to ask for help with your form if you're unsure!
