Why is the food database in Cronometer so lacking for non-English foods?
I love using Cronometer to track my meals and get a good grasp on my macros, but I'm seriously frustrated with the food database. I often cook for my family, and I like to incorporate a lot of multicultural recipes into our meals. The issue is that many of the foods I need just aren't in their database, especially items that aren't popular in English-speaking countries.
For instance, I tried adding some of our favorite Mediterranean dishes, but I couldn't find key ingredients like specific grains or spices. It feels like I'm constantly having to input data manually, which is a hassle. I've even tried using other apps like Yazio to see if they had a better selection, but I ended up coming back to Cronometer because of how detailed it is in other areas. Still, the multilingual support just isn't there, and it's really holding me back.
I wish Cronometer would consider expanding its database to include more globally diverse foods. It seems like a no-brainer, especially with how many people are looking for healthy options from different cultures. Has anyone else faced this issue? What do you do when you can't find what you need? I could really use some suggestions for alternatives or workarounds to make my tracking smoother!
