Is creatine HCl actually better than mono? What's the bioavailability scoop?

TL;DR: What's the real bioavailability comparison between creatine HCl and mono?

Been seeing all this chatter about creatine HCl vs. mono and I'm kinda salty. Schoenfeld and Helms show creatine mono is still the gold standard for gains (2021, Sports Medicine). Like, where's the solid bioavailability data on HCl? Anyone got the lowdown on this? All I see is hype and not much substance.

this is all just hype. creatine mono has been the real deal for ages.

Honestly, I've been tracking my progress with both, and mono just delivers better for my lifts. I've hit PRs while using it and not felt the same with HCl. The hype might just be the allure of something new, but numbers don't lie. Anyone else noticed similar patterns?

I tried creatine HCl for like a month, thought it would be the next big thing. Honestly, I felt the same as when I took mono. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the point. But hey, coffee always wins for me.

You bring up a good point about the lack of solid research on creatine HCl. Most studies still back creatine mono as the gold standard for muscle gains. The bioavailability claims for HCl seem more marketing than science at this point. If anyone finds better studies, please share!

Great discussion! Creatine mono has a wealth of evidence supporting its effectiveness. Some people claim HCl has better solubility and absorption, but those claims often lack rigorous research. If you're looking for gains, sticking with mono might be the way to go, especially since it's also cheaper. Just remember to stay hydrated while supplementing.

Bruh, I wouldn't even call it a 'fight' between these two. Creatine mono is the GOAT. Creatine HCl is like the copycat trying to steal the spotlight but not delivering on the results. 100% stick with mono!

Omg, have you tried making a smoothie with creatine? It's like my secret weapon! But seriously, I don't think HCl is better than mono. Just keep doing what works for you!

Creatine is like the zen of lifting, it's a classic! The body wants what it knows, and creatine mono has been the trusted companion for ages. Chasing after the new trend without solid evidence feels like running in circles. Sometimes, the simple things work best.
