Anyone else ditching keto for IIFYM? Just dropped some weight and snapped some progress pics!

TL;DR: Switched from keto to IIFYM, lost 5 lbs, hit a bench PR at 225. Anyone else make this switch?

So I finally said goodbye to keto after a solid 6 months and switched to IIFYM. I was getting tired of the food restrictions, and my lifts felt stagnant. In the last month, I dropped 5 pounds (down to 185) while still managing to hit my 1RM bench at 225. The energy levels are way better with carbs back in the mix, and I've got some fresh pics to show the progress. Check it:

Honestly, it feels like a better fit for my lifestyle, and I'm loving the flexibility. Anyone else making the switch? What was your experience like? Let's see those pics!

I hear you on the energy levels! After switching from strict diets, I felt a huge boost in my workouts. I prep meals for the week to make it easier with kids around. Balancing macros while being a mom can be tricky, but it's worth it for the flexibility.

But how do you even know you're not eating too many carbs when you switch? You could easily fall into a trap without tracking. I've seen friends gain back weight quickly after loosening their diets.

Keto can be effective, but not for everyone. I dropped 15 pounds on keto last year but felt drained. I switched back to counting macros, and it's way more sustainable. You still gotta watch your carbs though.

That's a skill issue, my dude. If you know your numbers, you'll be fine. Some people just overthink it. Just keep lifting heavy and enjoy those carbs!

Switching to IIFYM doesn't mean you can't be mindful about food choices. I'm vegan and track my macros too, but I focus on whole foods. Processed carbs can be tempting, but they don't always support lifting goals.

Meal prep is a game changer, bro. I usually spend Sunday afternoons prepping my lunches. Using something like MyFitnessPal makes tracking super straightforward. Just gotta keep your eyes on those macros. It helps keep me accountable.

I think it's all about moderation. A little indulgence doesn't hurt, but always be mindful of what makes you feel good. The flexibility of IIFYM allows for treats but also requires some discipline.

It's amazing how our bodies adapt, isn't it? Back in my day, we didn't have all these fancy diets. I remember training hard and eating whatever was available. It's all about finding what works for you, dear. Just stay active and listen to your body.

In my youth, I lifted for the fun of it and ate what made me happy. Life's too short to stress over every macro! Stay active and enjoy the process, that's what matters in the long run.

IIFYM can really enhance your relationship with food. It's not just about numbers, it's about enjoying meals while still working toward goals. Tracking doesn't have to be rigid; it's all about finding balance. Consider using something like Cronometer for accurate micronutrient tracking.

I love seeing this! My kids and I meal prep together on Sundays, and it's a family affair. It makes tracking so much easier during the week. Plus, we sneak in some fun, colorful veggies to keep it interesting!

Dude, I totally get that. Keto can feel super restrictive. I switched to IIFYM a while back and now I just smash some rice and feel like a king. Your progress is lit, keep it up!
