So I dropped my fiber to 5g/day for 6 weeks and now I'm crashing hard, anyone relate?

TL;DR: Dropped fiber to 5g/day for 6 weeks, now my energy is crashing hard. Need tips to recover and meal timing advice.

Real talk, I thought dropping my fiber intake to 5g/day would help streamline my digestion or something, but boy was I wrong. My energy levels are in the toilet, and I'm pretty sure my kid thinks I'm a zombie. I know fiber is supposed to be good for energy and all that jazz, but I didn't think it'd hit me this hard.

Trying to balance lifting and mom life is already a struggle, so this crash feels like a double whammy. I'm honestly just looking for tips on how to ease back into a normal fiber intake without feeling like I'm going to explode. Anyone else dealt with this? How did you bounce back?

Also, quick Q: how do you time your meals to avoid that post-meal slump? Seems like my food choices are fighting against me lately.

Facts. I dropped fiber for a week and felt sluggish too! I think it's a balance, so while fiber is essential, timing those meals with a good amount of carbs and protein can prevent that post-meal slump. Try some fruit with your meals, like berries or bananas. They're tasty and will help ease the transition.

Real talk, 5g of fiber is like trying to run a marathon on empty. I did that once, and my energy tanked too. You might feel like a zombie now, but easing back in with some whole grains and fruits could help. Just don't go all-in at once or you might be regretting it later!

Yep, this is a common issue. After cutting fiber too low, your gut microbiome can struggle. You might want to consider a gradual reintroduction of fiber sources like beans or legumes. They'll help stabilize your energy levels and keep you from feeling bloated if you ease into it.

This shit's real! I thought skipping fiber was gonna make me feel like a boss, but I was just tired and cranky, lol. Seriously, just take it slow with the fiber reintroduction and don't skip meals. Your kid might think you're a zombie, but they'll appreciate a mom who's not a hangry one.

I can relate to that crash. I once tried to cut out fiber, thinking it would simplify my meals, but I ended up feeling like I was in a funk for weeks. It's wild how much fiber affects your energy and mood. Maybe start by adding one high-fiber food back each week? Keep it gradual to avoid the discomfort.

Based. I don't get why people think cutting fiber will help digestion. Just stick to whole foods! If you want to avoid the post-meal slump, don't mix your fats and carbs too heavily. Keep it simple. Protein and veggies should be your main focus.

Fiber is definitely crucial for energy. Have you tried timing your meals around your workouts? A mix of complex carbs and protein right before lifting can help with that slump you mentioned. Oats, quinoa, and sweet potatoes are great options to add back in while boosting fiber.
