What's the real protein ceiling if I have a history of kidney stones?

So, I've got a bit of a history with kidney stones and now that I'm cutting, I'm paranoid about hitting my protein targets without triggering another episode. I've seen all kinds of numbers thrown around, from 1g per pound of bodyweight to higher. Anyone know if there's a safe upper limit for us stone-prone folks? Like, what's the deal with protein and kidney health? Ngl, I'm not trying to trade gains for more trips to the ER.

This is a big mood! Like, I love my protein but I'm also not about that kidney stone life. I do calisthenics and keep my protein around 0.7g per pound with a focus on whole foods. Avocado and quinoa have been my best friends for healthy carbs and some protein. You got this!

Lol, just don't do what I did and end up at the ER on a random Tuesday after a heavy protein day. Seriously though, it's a balancing act. You might want to stick to lower protein sources that aren't super dense. Cottage cheese or Greek yogurt could be solid options to still get protein without going overboard.
