Is it normal to feel like a noodle after lifting? Asking for a friend!

TL;DR: Wondering if feeling super sore after lifting is normal for beginners.

I just started lifting and after my first session, my legs felt like jelly and i could barely walk! Is this normal? Like, are all newbies doomed to feel like total noodles after workouts? I want to be strong but this is lowkey wild.

Feeling weak or like a noodle after lifting is a clear sign that you've pushed your muscles. This is a normal response called DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness), especially for beginners. It's a good indicator that your body is adapting to the new stress. Over time, as your body becomes accustomed to the weight, that feeling will diminish. Make sure you're incorporating adequate recovery and nutrition as well, because those are critical to your progress.

Feeling like a noodle means you activated those muscles! As a plant-based lifter, I also found that good nutrition really helps with recovery. Foods like lentils and quinoa provide great protein and iron. Maybe consider some plant-based protein shakes; they work wonders for muscle recovery.

Absolutely normal! I remember my first leg day, it felt like I'd run a marathon on jelly legs. Just keep a consistent routine, and you'll adapt. Make sure you're also staying hydrated and eating enough protein; it helps with recovery. My kids sometimes laugh at how I can barely walk after leg day, but now they see the gains!

Look, if you're not sore, you're not lifting enough. But also, pushing too hard too soon can lead to injuries. Noodly legs are part of the game, but don't be reckless. A solid plan, like 5/3/1 or even GZCL, will help you build strength without turning you into a permanent noodle

For real, feeling like a noodle is super common for newbies! Your muscles are basically like, 'What the heck just happened?' Just keep at it and you'll feel stronger each time. Progress is like a rollercoaster, and you're just at the start!

Noodle vibes are basically a rite of passage. I felt like Bambi after my first squat session, not even kidding. Just remember, if you're not a little sore, did you even lift?

Facts! Feeling like a noodle means you're working hard. Just listen to your body, and if you're too sore, maybe take a rest day. Stretching or doing some light yoga can really help, too. Strength gains are right around the corner!
