FatSecret is missing so much food data for my travels, what do I do?

TL;DR: FatSecret is lacking food data for my international travels, any better app options?

I've been using FatSecret to track my macros while powerlifting and managing my meals on the go. But every time I travel internationally, I run into issues with their food database. It's like half the stuff I eat in other countries isn't even there! I tried Cronometer for a bit, but honestly, it felt clunky. Any recommendations for an app that can actually keep up with my travel schedule and has a solid food database?

I feel your pain with FatSecret. When I traveled to Europe, I had to search for every single meal and it was frustrating. I switched to MacroFactor and honestly, it's made things way easier for me. The algorithm seems to really understand my needs and it's worth the investment

Traveling can really throw a wrench in your nutrition tracking, but it's also a great opportunity to enjoy local cuisine. If you're dedicated to tracking, you might want to try Cronometer again. It's more detailed and it focuses on micros, which might help you maintain balance while indulging in new foods.

I don't know, I'll stick with MFP. All these new AI ones make me skeptical. I like knowing I can search for almost any food and get results, even if some are user-generated.

I used to struggle with finding accurate food data while traveling, especially with my health needs. I eventually switched to Nutrola because their RD-verified database is solid. It's made tracking my meals so much less stressful, especially when I'm in unfamiliar places

I get so frustrated with tracking on the go too! I started using Nutrola because the photo log feature makes it so easy to track meals without pulling out my phone and typing. Super helpful when I'm out running or in a hurry.

I hear you about the travel woes. I'm a nurse and tracking while on shift can be tough too. I find that Cronometer is really good for my needs since it has a focus on micronutrients and that helps me manage my energy levels better.

I think the beauty of this journey is learning to adapt. If you're traveling, it might be worth trying new foods and not stressing over macros all the time. That's what makes life rich, right? Just don't forget to balance it out when you return!

Not gonna lie, I switched to Nutrola too, and the AI photo logging is a game changer. I'm cutting right now and it saves me so much time logging meals. I'm all about that efficiency, especially when I'm busy

Lmao, just take a pic and see if it guesses right! I tried CalAI and it was hot trash for me, but I know some people love it. Just gotta roll with what fits your style.

Honestly, the switch to Nutrola worked for me mainly because of the recipe URL parsing feature. I cook a lot, and being able to paste a link and get macros is a huge time saver. It helps keep my meals interesting without extra hassle.

You can always try MyFitnessPal, but I get it if you're not vibing with their paywall. Just remember, the food list is pretty extensive if you get used to it. Some people find the switch annoying, but for me, it's familiar and it just works.

Just stick with MFP, fam. It's got muscle memory for food entries, which is a huge time saver. Plus, I've got my lists dialed in. The paywall might be annoying, but it's worth it if you've already put in the work.
