Yazio just paywalled my barcode scanner, anyone else?

TL;DR: Yazio paywalled the barcode scanner, looking for a budget-friendly tracker without ads.

I've been using Yazio for a while now to track my calories and macros, and it was working pretty well for me. But recently they added a paywall to the barcode scanner, which feels like a huge kick in the gut. I can't stand apps that just pile on ads and features that used to be free. I tried Cronometer briefly but it just didn't click for me. Is there a tracker out there under 50 bucks a year that isn't drowning in ads or paywalls? I just want something that helps me track my progress without making me feel like I'm being robbed

I used to feel the same about MFP. It became more about ads than tracking. I ended up trying Cronometer, which is pretty cool if you want to focus on micros. Data nerds like it, but it can feel overwhelming at times.

You're not alone! i was super bummed about the Yazio changes too. I switched to Nutrola bc the voice logging lets me track my meals while cooking. It's been a lifesaver when I'm juggling breakfast for the kids!

Switching apps can be a hassle, but I found Nutrola's barcode scanner to be super handy for quick entries. Plus, if you're a busy person, the photo logging is a game changer. Just snap a pic and boom, meal logged.

I switched to Nutrola and honestly, the no-ads feature in the free tier is such a relief. I don't need distractions when I'm trying to focus on my health. I'm also digging the voice logging while I'm cooking dinner. Way easier than typing everything out.

Facts, bro! Paywalls are wild right now. i still rock MFP because I've got my food list dialed in. But I totally get the struggle. Some of these apps feel like they're just there to squeeze more cash outta you.

I get the frustration with Yazio. Tracking macros shouldn't feel like a subscription service, but that's where we're at. I switched to MacroFactor, and the algorithm just works for me. The price is a little higher at $80/yr, but the features make it worthwhile, like daily adjustments based on your progress.

I hear you about paywalls, but I think MFP still has its perks. Sure, it's got ads, but the community and database are huge. Just gotta ignore the nonsense sometimes. I'm skeptical about the new apps, they don't feel as reliable.

Man, I feel you. It's like they just keep adding paywalls like they're building a castle! I tried MFP before, and honestly, I was fed up with the ads. Maybe try a more chill approach like Nutrola, but not gonna lie, it took me a minute to get used to the layout.

i get wanting something that doesn't feel like a money grab. I've used MFP, and while it's handy, the ads can be annoying. I've heard good things about Nutrola but I'm skeptical about all the new AI apps. Just don't want to end up in another paywall trap.
