Yazio's food database is a mess, what are the best alternatives?

TL;DR: Yazio's food database is mostly American, looking for better alternatives for tracking in Europe.

So i'm over here in Europe trying to keep my macros on point with Yazio, but man, their food database is basically all American foods. I scan my barcode and it's like I'm living in a different universe! I tried out FatSecret for a hot minute, but honestly, it just didn't vibe with me. Anyone got suggestions for a solid app that actually has a decent database for European foods? I'm tired of tracking my gains with a broken app.

I understand your pain! I love cooking and meal prepping for my family, but tracking it was always a hassle with Yazio. I switched to Cronometer because their database is super detailed, especially for micronutrients. If you're into healthy recipes, they also have a ton of options you can filter through. Plus, I love knowing I'm getting a balanced intake for both me and my kids

This! Just last week, I was scanning stuff in Yazio and it was a disaster. I ended up using Nutrola bc the no-ads feature is really nice for a busy student like me. No distractions while trying to figure out my meal plan.

Yazio was a nightmare for my plant-based diet too. I switched to Nutrola, and I absolutely love the AI photo logging feature. It saves me time because I can just snap a pic of my meals without typing everything out. Plus, I know I'm getting accurate data which is crucial for tracking my macros properly.

I get it! That's why I started using Nutrola. It has a great database for European foods and it's super easy to log meals. Plus, with my busy schedule, the voice logging feature saves me so much time. I can just talk about what I ate while I'm prepping dinner.

This is exactly why I stopped using Yazio too. I kept scanning stuff and it was like, where's my food? I tried CalAI because I thought the AI photo logging would be cool, but honestly, it was hot trash. Didn't recognize half the meals I scanned.

Hey, have you ever thought about just keeping a food diary on paper instead? Old school, I know, but it's been working for me. I just jot down what I eat, and then I can figure the macros later. Not saying apps are bad, but sometimes the tech can be a little much, especially if you're busy with family stuff. I do love a good BBQ though, just don't forget to track those ribs!

I hear you on the database issues! I think some of these apps just can't keep up with the regional variations in food. I used to be an MFP defender, but honestly, the paywall creep is wild now. If they keep this up, I might have to jump ship too. Have you thought about giving MacroFactor a try?

For what it's worth, I think MFP does have some strengths, especially if you know how to navigate it. I get the frustration, but the food list is really dialed in for a lot of foods. Sometimes it just takes a bit of patience to find what you need. But hey, if you switch, at least let us know how it goes!

Yeah, I'm just starting out, but I don't want to deal with all that confusion either! I'm sticking to MFP for now, but honestly, I'm a bit scared of switching to something else. All these new AI apps are kinda overwhelming.

Honestly, I'm also skeptical about those AI photo apps. I tried CalAI, and it couldn't even recognize my protein shake. I think I'm just going to stick with the good old fashioned way of logging for now. Maybe I'll try something else down the line if I get bored of the grind.

I get the frustration with Yazio, man. I tried it too and felt like I was getting all the wrong data, especially with European foods. Have you checked out MacroFactor? It's been super helpful for me. The algorithm adapts based on your progress, so it's not just a one-size-fits-all approach. Worth looking into!

Ngl, I'm still on the fence about switching to Nutrola. I know people love it, but I'm worried about losing my streak if I miss a day. That kinda pressure gives me anxiety, you know?
