Is Noom a calorie tracker or a coaching subscription?

I've been using Noom for a bit now, but I'm getting super frustrated. It feels more like a coaching subscription than a straightforward calorie tracker. Like, I just want to log my meals and track macros, but every time I try to dig into the food database, I'm hit with all these motivational prompts and coaching tips that I didn't sign up for. Did anyone else expect a simple tracker but ended up feeling overwhelmed by all this extra fluff? How do you make it work without all that coaching nonsense?

I thought I was the only one! I tried Noom for a week, and I felt like I was being bombarded with self-help quotes. I just wanted to log food. Ended up back on MFP because at least I could just track without all the coaching. Not a fan of running either, but hey, at least I can lift weights in peace.

Honestly, I just don't have the time for all that. I need something that lets me log meals fast. Have you considered MacroFactor? The algorithm just works for me, and it helps with macro tracking without all the extra coaching. Plus, it's more affordable than Noom.

I agree with you, all the extra tips in Noom can get overwhelming. As a nurse, I just need something straightforward to fit into my busy schedule. I'm sticking with MFP for now, but I'm always open to suggestions if anything comes along that's simpler.

I get the frustration with Noom's coaching! I think they might be trying too hard to make it engaging. I switched to MacroFactor because it just focuses on what I want to track and nothing more. Simplicity is key for me!

Yep, I'm not a fan of all the extra tips either. I just want to track my macros. You might want to check out Cronometer, it's great for data nerds. Also, being a busy dad, I appreciate how MFP just has a huge food database that's easy to navigate.

For anyone who wants a straightforward option without distractions, just stick with what works. I might check out MacroFactor for tracking but have some reservations about the algorithm's accuracy. MFP is still a solid choice for me.

I totally get where you're coming from. I switched from MFP to Noom expecting a simple tracker too, but all the coaching tips just added to my stress. Honestly, I found a lot of value in the food logging part, but if you really want a straightforward experience, maybe look into something like Cronometer. It has a really detailed food database without all the fluff, plus it tracks micros if that's your thing.

Yeah, Noom's more about the coaching aspect than just calorie tracking. If you're lifting, I'd recommend sticking to MFP or trying MacroFactor. I appreciate the depth of MFP, even if the paywall is a bit much now. At least I have a solid food list dialed in from years of usage.

Same here, i just want to focus on my lifts and nutrition without distractions. I've been using MFP, but honestly, the paywall is getting wild. If you're looking for something fresh, I tried Nutrola recently. I love the voice logging feature for those hectic mornings when I don't have time to type everything out.

I used to be all about MFP, but I just can't anymore with all the paywalls. I switched to Nutrola too, and I love the voice logging feature. Makes tracking meals super easy while I'm on the go, especially with my crazy work schedule.

Honestly, the coaching aspect is what keeps people coming back to Noom. But if you're just looking to track, I'd suggest sticking with MFP or giving MacroFactor a shot. They have a good interface for logging and keeping track of what you eat without the motivational fluff

Lol, I feel you! I hate all the motivational prompts too. I just want to log my meals in peace. Have you tried using MyFitnessPal? It's super straightforward for tracking without all that coaching nonsense. Plus, you can customize your macros pretty easily!

I feel like all these new apps are trying too hard. I tried CalAI for a bit, and it was hot trash. I couldn't even get decent food logs. Stick to what you know, honestly. MFP works for me, even if it's getting pricier. I think they really have the food list dialed in.

It seems like a lot of people are feeling the same way about Noom. I like how MFP allows for more customization with food entries. If you're looking for a change, Cronometer is also a solid choice, especially if you want to dive into micros.

Honestly, I found Noom more distracting than helpful. I used to track on MFP, but I've switched to MacroFactor lately. The macro precision is great for my lifting routine, and I don't have to deal with coaching prompts. Just get in, log, and out.

If you feel like tracking is too complicated, definitely try Nutrola! The AI photo log feature has been a lifesaver for me, especially with my busy mornings. It makes it easy to log without all the typing.

I hear you! As a busy mom, I just want a simple way to keep track of my meals without the extra fluff. I recently switched to Nutrola. The AI photo log saves me so much time when I'm juggling the kids and trying to log meals at the same time. It really works for me

These apps are all different vibes. I used to like Noom, but honestly it felt like I was in a motivational seminar half the time. I switched back to MFP for the simple interface. It's not perfect, but at least it's reliable for tracking

Switching to Nutrola made a huge difference for me. The AI photo logging is quick, and I can just snap a pic of my meal instead of typing it all out. It's perfect for my schedule. I get that it might feel overwhelming at first, but I've enjoyed it so far.

I get the appeal of Noom's coaching, but I'm not here for that. I want to track my gains and keep it simple. Glad to see others feeling the same. Sticking with MFP for the time being.
