Soft or firm mattress for lifters? Which one gives better recovery?
I've been lifting for 2 years and am starting to really focus on recovery. I was wondering about mattress firmness, like should I be going for a soft or firm mattress to support my lifts? I wake up sometimes feeling like my back's not getting the support it needs after heavy deadlifts. Naps feel nice on my soft bed, but I'm not sure it's doing my body any favors long-term. Anyone else lift heavy and have thoughts on this? What do you sleep on, and how does it affect your recovery?
