First physique show prep, did i push too hard?
I recently started my first prep for a physique show, and it's been a whirlwind of emotions. Over the last 12 weeks, I've seen some pretty significant changes, but I'm struggling with balancing the physical demands and the mental stress of it all. I went from 135 lbs to 125 lbs, and I've dropped my body fat percentage down to around 12%.
Training has been intense, incorporating both weightlifting and cardio. I've been following a push-pull-legs routine, focusing on hypertrophy while also fitting in about 30-45 minutes of running a few times a week. My lifts have improved, with my squat hitting 185 lbs for 5 reps, which is a PR for me! But I can't shake this feeling of pushing too hard.
Some days I feel so motivated, imagining the stage and the progress I'm making, but other days I just feel exhausted and overwhelmed. I guess I'm just looking for some insight from others who have prepped for shows. Did you feel this way too? How did u cope with the mental side of it all? Thanks for any advice you can share.
