Can I still PR a 10k while cutting?

TL;DR: Looking for tips on PRing a 10k while cutting.

I've been cutting for a while now, and I'm starting to wonder if it's possible to PR my 10k during this deficit. I love running and want to push my limits, but I also know that cutting can impact energy levels and performance. Anyone had success with this? What tips do you have for managing energy while running hard? I'm curious about your experiences!

I've actually PR'd during a cut! I focused on keeping my protein high while managing my carbs around my runs. It was tough some days, but it really helped to stay mindful about what I was putting in my body. Hydration is also super important, don't overlook that.

I was cutting while training for my first 10k last year. I focused on lighter weights and more endurance workouts. It was hard, but when race day came, I was shocked by my time! Just stay focused and keep your mindset positive.

I think you can definitely PR if you have a structured plan. Make sure you're including nutrient-dense foods and timing your meals around your runs. Getting enough calories during your cut is key, and don't skip the post-run recovery!

That makes sense! Slower runs are the way to go when you're feeling drained. Just don't forget to stretch afterward or u'll be sore as hell the next day. No one wants to walk like a penguin after a run.

Cutting can be tricky, but you can still hit a PR! I suggest incorporating bodyweight workouts to keep your energy levels up without overexerting yourself. Bodyweight exercises really help maintain strength and stamina without draining your resources too much.

You can also consider switching to lower-intensity runs if you're cutting. Sometimes those long, slow runs can help you maintain fitness without exhausting your energy reserves too much. It worked for me when I was cutting!

I've been cutting while training for a marathon, and I think you can PR, but it's all about your nutrition. A higher protein intake can help with recovery, and some complex carbs will keep your energy levels steady. Don't underestimate the power of proper nutrition!

As a dad, I'm all about balance. I started cutting while keeping up with my kids' energy. If you can find a way to incorporate family activities into your training, it makes it way easier! My best PR came when I was focused on fun rather than just numbers.

Pizza after a run? You're living the dream! But seriously, if you want that PR, pizza should be a reward, not a meal. Unless it's like, post-long-run fuel, then maybe. Just don't make it a habit.

Budgeting for a cut is tough! I focused on getting filling, high-fiber foods that didn't break the bank. Lots of beans and oats helped keep me full without blowing my calorie limits. It can be done!

PR a 10k while cutting? LOL, good luck with that! But for real, if you really push yourself and stay consistent with ur runs, you might surprise yourself. Just don't forget to actually run and not just lift heavy, okay?

Cutting and running? Sounds like a recipe for disaster, lol. But seriously, I think it's doable if you manage your macros right. Try to keep your carbs before and after runs. That way you won't feel like a zombie while you're chasing your PR.

One thing I learned was the importance of proper hydration while cutting. It's so easy to overlook it, but staying hydrated can really help your performance. I even added electrolytes to my water some days!

Running and pizza? Sign me up! Just make sure your pizza doesn't replace your meals, lol. A slice or two as a treat after a long run is great motivation to keep hitting those distances!

Honestly, I thought cutting would ruin my running, but I actually managed a PR last year during a cut. I focused on my carbs and made sure I was eating enough nutrient-dense foods like sweet potatoes and quinoa. I also threw in some speed work and tempo runs to keep my performance up. It was a balancing act, but so worth it! Just make sure you're not starving yourself, or else you'll feel like a zombie on race day. 馃崟

Nah fam, just stick to lifting. Running is for people who hate their knees. If you're cutting, just enjoy lifting and leave the running to the crazies.

That's a bold take, but honestly, cardio can be super beneficial. I get that it's tough on the knees, but training smart can help. If you don't want to run, try cycling or swimming, both are great alternatives!

Mindfulness plays a huge role when cutting. It's not just about the calories, but how you feel during your runs. Try meditation or yoga to balance your mind and body while you push for that PR. Nutrition is vital too, so prioritize whole foods to maintain energy.

Exactly! Hydration makes such a difference. I often add a pinch of sea salt to my water during long runs for the electrolytes. It's really helped me stay energized and focused during my workouts.
