42 and finally starting, what should I know on day 1?

TL;DR: Day 1? Lift some weights, avoid cardio, and stretch a lot.

So, you're diving into the fitness world at 42, huh? Props for that! Just remember, day 1 is like a warmup for a marathon, kinda brutal but necessary. Don't overdo it with cardio, cause let's be real, it's the worst! Stick to some basic lifts and get comfy with the equipment, then maybe sprinkle in some light running when you're ready. And don't forget to stretch! You'll need it after realizing how out of shape you might be. Any tips from the seasoned pros out there?

100! Cardio is like the necessary evil, but honestly, lifting feels way better. Start with some compound movements, and don't forget to hydrate!

I started running 5ks a few years back, but I can't emphasize enough how important it is to listen to your body. You'll find what works for you, but don't push too hard too soon!

If you're new to lifting, consider using creatine. Studies show it can boost your performance and help with recovery. Just be sure to stay hydrated, since it pulls water into your muscles.

Recovery is key, especially as you age. Incorporate stretching and foam rolling to help with DOMS. Your muscles will thank you later. Trust me, I've learned the hard way!

Meal prep is a game-changer! I love whipping up healthy dishes ahead of time. Try making a big batch of quinoa and roasted veggies. It's simple, nutritious, and keeps you on track.

As a mom who lifts, I totally get it. Finding time for workouts can be tough. I recommend starting with short, effective sessions, and don't be afraid to bring your kids along to the gym! They can motivate you, trust me.

Going plant-based doesn't mean you can't lift! I've been hitting PRs while sticking to a vegan diet. Just make sure to get enough protein from sources like lentils, beans, and tofu.

Just go lift bro, skip all the cardio crap. When you start hitting those PRs, you'll be hooked. Just don't forget leg day or you'll end up like a chicken.

Bro, don't underestimate the power of a solid warm-up. I've pulled muscles before skipping it. Make it a habit! Plus, dad life and lifting can coexist. Just have fun with it!
