When do I actually progress the weight? Every workout?

Alright, fellow lifters, let's talk about weight progression. I've been lifting for a minute, and I'm still kinda confused about how often to up the weights. Is it every workout, or do I wait until it feels like I'm not struggling anymore? I mean, I love food and I want to lift heavy to eat more pizza, but I also don't want to look like a total noob at the gym. Any tips on finding that sweet spot? Or is it all just trial and error?

Don't stress about looking like a noob! Everyone starts somewhere. Focus on form and build strength at your own pace. I used to get so nervous about the weight room, but over time, it became second nature. Find a workout buddy if that helps you feel more confident!

Weight progression is definitely about finding that balance. I usually aim for a 5% increase when I can complete all my reps with good form. It's also crucial to track your lifts so you can see how you're progressing over time, whether you use an app or just a good old notebook.

I agree with everyone saying it's about feeling comfortable with the weights. As a busy mom, I often prioritize time over weight. I usually stick to a 3x10 format, then add weight every couple of weeks. But I also listen to my body and adjust as needed. Between balancing kids and workouts, I've learned that flexibility is key. Sometimes, I even need a deload week if I'm feeling too beat up from everything!

You don't need to increase weights every single workout. Instead, focus on a rep range or a specific plan. Some programs suggest increasing every week, while others do it every 2-3 weeks. Listen to your body, and pay attention to your RPE (rate of perceived exertion) to gauge when you're ready to push it.

Honestly, it's all about how you feel. If you're not struggling by the end of your set, you're probably ready to add weight. Just don't go too crazy too fast, or you might end up looking like a total noob in a different way! Also, pizza is life, so lift heavy and eat well.

I'm with you on this, but I think it's also about recovery. You can push weights up, but if you're not resting enough, you won't see the gains. Just keep an eye on DOMS and how you're feeling overall. It's a marathon, not a sprint

Yesss! I remember when I was stuck on the same weight for weeks, then suddenly, it just clicked! I upped my intake of protein pancakes, and I felt stronger. Make sure you're eating enough, too. I use MyFitnessPal to keep track of macros. It's been super helpful!

Bro, if you ain't feeling like you're about to die by the last rep, are you even lifting? Seriously tho, try pushing it up by 5-10 lbs when you're consistently hitting your reps. If you're not struggling, u might be wasting your time!
