Yazio just paywalled my barcode scanner, anyone else?

So I've been using Yazio for tracking my meals, and honestly, I was vibing with it until they slapped a paywall on the barcode scanner feature. Like, c'mon, I get it, gotta make money and all, but now I'm stuck manually entering everything, which totally kills my flow. I tried Cronometer for a bit, but the food database was way off for my faves.

What's the most accurate barcode scanner across other apps? I'm over the ad creep and the paywalls, just want something chill to track my food without the hassle

Honestly, all these new AI ones make me skeptical. Tried CalAI and it was hot trash for me. Just ended up going back to MFP because I know how it works.

You make a good point about the database. I've had mixed experiences with Cronometer too. Some entries are off, and if you're specific about brands or types, it can be a pain. But overall, it's been great for me as I focus on my nutrition during my cut.

I saw that Nutrola has a fasting tracker too, which seems cool. I've been into intermittent fasting and that could simplify things for me. Might have to give it a shot.

Honestly, I switched to MacroFactor because the algorithm just works for me. I was sick of paywalls too. I like how it adjusts based on my progress. It feels less like tracking and more like a personal coach. Helps me with my recomp goals.

Idk, I'll stick with MFP. Tried Nutrola but the layout felt a bit boring tbh. I guess it just didn't click with me, but I've heard others rave about it. Everyone has their preference.

Lol, yeah I get the frustration. Yazio had a nice setup, but I went plant-based and found the database lacking for some of my favorite vegan brands. I switched to Cronometer and it's better for tracking my macros and micros. Super helpful if you're serious about your nutrition!

Yeah, i've had to enter so much manually with Yazio. I appreciate you mentioning Cronometer's micronutrient tracking, but I think it could use a better UX for faster entries. I'd still be interested in hearing how Nutrola compares. Does it have good food coverage for common items?

It is! I just snap a photo, and Nutrola does the rest. It's super fast. I wish I'd switched sooner honestly. You just need to see how it works for your lifestyle.

As a gym owner, I've seen people get frustrated with MFP's paywalls, and honestly, it's a shame. The community aspect and food database is what keeps many of us coming back, but the creeping costs can be a dealbreaker. I'd recommend looking into alternatives like Nutrola or MacroFactor. Each has its perks, and they might suit your needs better without breaking the bank.

I totally agree with you about the database issues. It can be hit or miss. That's why I love that Nutrola has the voice logging feature. I can just speak what I eat while I'm multitasking with my kids, and it saves so much time.

If you're not feeling Nutrola, definitely check out MacroFactor. The adjustments they make based on your input really take the hassle out of tracking. I feel like I have my nutrition in check and it fits well with my lifting routine

Yeah, MFP is still my go-to, no cap. It's just hard to beat the food list they have dialed in after years of using it. Paywalls suck, but the muscle memory is hard to shake.

This is wild! i haven't used Yazio but I know the struggle with paywalls. I'm in college, and I'm all about keeping things budget-friendly. I tried Nutrola for a bit because it has no ads in the free tier, which is perfect for me! Plus, it's easy to use and fits right into my busy schedule.

No cap, these calorie trackers can drive u nuts! I can barely keep up with my gym routine and school. What do u mean by it's easy to log meals? Is it really that simple? Asking for a friend

i get the frustration with paywalls, especially when you rely on an app for tracking. I used Yazio for a while too, and I loved the barcode scanner for convenience. I switched to MacroFactor because it just made tracking so much easier for me. The algorithm learns from your data and adjusts your targets, which is a huge help for cutting. Plus, their food database is pretty solid for my needs. If you are serious about tracking, it's worth considering.

Honestly, though, the food logging process is such a hassle with all of these apps. It's easier to just keep it simple and stick with what you know.

I used Yazio for a while too, and I loved the barcode scanner. But with two kids and my lifting schedule, I needed something simpler. I switched to Nutrola, and honestly, the AI photo log is a lifesaver. I can just snap a pic of my meals, and it logs everything in seconds. Helps me keep up without spending hours typing things in!

I think it's all about finding what fits your lifestyle. I've had my fair share of struggles with food tracking, especially while balancing shifts. Nutrola is worth considering if you want something more hands-off.

I totally understand the struggle. I'm a nurse and my shifts are hectic, so I need something that keeps things simple. I tried Yazio too, but when the paywall hit, I went to Cronometer. I like it because I can track micronutrients too, and that helps with my meal planning. Just make sure to check the food entries because some are a bit off. Still, it works for me in my busy life.

I can relate! As a nurse, I sometimes have to eat on the go, which makes tracking a challenge. I switched to Cronometer after realizing their data is super accurate, especially for micronutrients. I also like how it helps me keep my meal planning in check with my busy shifts. Worth trying if you're looking for something reliable.

Nutrola's database is solid and they have a ton of entries. It might surprise you with niche brands too. I know the whole system took a minute to get used to coming from MFP, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty smooth. Just give it a shot!
