Is Foodvisor's photo accuracy usable or just a coin flip?

TL;DR: Foodvisor's photo logging feature is hit or miss for me, any tips on improving its accuracy?

So I've been using Foodvisor for a while now, mainly for its photo logging feature, but I swear half the time it can't even recognize basic foods. Like, I took a pic of a simple tofu stir-fry and it thought it was some kind of weird pancake. 🤦‍♀️ I also tried Cronometer but the interface felt like a relic from the Stone Age, so I went back to Foodvisor. Anyone else having this struggle with the photo accuracy or is it just me and my camera skills?

I feel like I'm rolling dice every time I scan my meals. Do I get broccoli, or is it going to tell me I'm eating a pizza? What gives?!

No cap, I switched to MacroFactor a while back, and the algorithm just works for me. It's way less guesswork when I'm tracking. The breakdowns are super helpful for my lifting days, keeps my macros on point. Might be worth checking out if you're tired of the guessing game.

I hear you. I've been using MyFitnessPal for years, and while it has its flaws, the food database is pretty comprehensive. If you're willing to put in the time to dial in your food list, it can save you a lot of headaches. Switching apps can feel like a hassle, especially if you have a solid routine with MFP.

Lmao, yeah I had a similar experience. Tried CalAI and it was hot trash. Just stuck with my manual tracking on MFP for now, feels more reliable. Plus, no one wants to be told they're eating pizza when it's just veggies. 😂

Honestly, the photo accuracy on Foodvisor is hit or miss. I took a pic of my vegan chili, and it thought it was a smoothie! 😅 I think they need to improve their food recognition algorithms. Just go with what you know and track manually sometimes, it's less stressful than relying on the app.

I totally get that! Foodvisor's photo feature makes me feel like I'm playing a guessing game too. If u're looking for an alternative, I just switched to Nutrola, and the AI photo log has been so quick! Like, I can snap my meals while I'm at the gym and it figures it out in seconds.

I hear you, and while MFP is solid, the paywall creep is wild. I'm sticking with it for now since I have a lot of meals saved, but it does make me think about switching. Anyone else feel that pinch when they try to access certain features?

The struggle is real with photo apps! I've tried a few and ended up frustrated. I went with Cronometer for a while, but it felt like learning hieroglyphics. Now I focus on bodyweight workouts and track macros manually, which gives me better control over my intake. It works better for me in the long run.

I was skeptical about Nutrola at first too, but the photo log being so quick really helped me keep on top of my meals between classes and gym sessions. Sometimes I feel like I'm using it too well, since I miss a day and lose the streak! 😂 But it really keeps me accountable.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I tried logging a simple quinoa salad, and it thought it was a bowl of cereal. 😂 I mostly stick to manual entries because I like to control what goes into my food log, plus it helps me keep track of my baking ingredients when I'm prepping! Honestly, I think it's just part of the game. Like, you roll the dice with these photo trackers. I'm in college, and the last thing I need is an app telling me I ate a burrito when it was a salad. It's a whole vibe of 'what's even happening right now?' 😂
