Nutrola vs my old paper journal - did I make a mistake?

I've been tracking my meals and workouts for years with a good old paper journal, but I decided to try Nutrola recently. As a busy dad of three, I thought an app might save me time and help keep me accountable. But now I'm wondering if I made the right choice.

On one hand, Nutrola has some solid features. The barcode scanner is super handy for tracking calories, and the AI photo logging is pretty neat when I'm short on time. I also like how it syncs with my wearable. But I've noticed some inconsistencies in its food database, which can be frustrating, especially when I'm trying to hit my macros.

Comparatively, my paper journal was always reliable, but it required more time to log everything manually, and it didn't give me instant feedback. I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of sticking with Nutrola versus going back to my good old journal. Anyone else been in this boat? What did you decide?

Honestly, I tried switching to a calorie app before and it just made my anxiety worse. If you're struggling with the database inconsistencies, that might weigh on your mental health too. I found a bit of freedom going back to my journal because it felt less restrictive. But if Nutrola's helping you save time, that's definitely a win.

i used to track with MFP and switched to Nutrola because the data is way more accurate. The RD-verified database is a big deal for me, especially with my dietary restrictions. Plus, the food logging is much quicker with the photo feature, which I love. It's not perfect, but it makes tracking a lot less of a chore.

I switched to Nutrola after using MFP for a year, and honestly, I haven't looked back! The voice logging feature means I can just talk about my meals while cooking. I'm always multitasking, so typing everything out was just too much hassle. I totally get the struggle of food database issues, but I find it less frustrating than MFP's endless user-generated entries. It's helped me stay more consistent

I totally get where you're coming from. I was in the same boat, switching from my paper journal to Nutrola. The barcode scanner feature has been a lifesaver for me as a busy dad. I can quickly log what I eat without having to type it all out, which is a huge time-saver. But I feel you on the food database being inconsistent sometimes; it can be frustrating when you're trying to stay on track with macros. Overall, I think it's worth sticking with Nutrola, just give it some time.

If you prefer something straightforward, i'd still say MFP has a simpler UI. The logging process is quick, and it's easy to adjust macros. It's just less overwhelming than some of these new apps. But if Nutrola is working for you, I can see why it's appealing. Both have their pros.

As a mom who lifts, balancing everything is tough. I started using Nutrola because of the in-app workout logging. It saves me from juggling multiple apps and makes everything streamlined. It can take a little getting used to, but once you do, I think you'll find it simplifies your life, especially with kids around.

The other day, I accidentally logged a whole pizza as one slice in MFP and it had me questioning everything. I had to switch apps, so I went with Nutrola. The interface is way better for my ADHD brain, and the barcode scanner really cuts down on the errors. If MFP is giving you issues, maybe it's time to try Nutrola a little longer!

You've got this! If you love meal prep like I do, I think you'd really appreciate Nutrola's recipe browser. You can filter by cook time and protein target, which makes meal planning way easier! It's a fun way to keep meals exciting instead of relying on the same old stuff. Hope you find your groove!

Not gonna lie, I've heard mixed reviews about Nutrola. Some folks love it, but I've tried some of the AI features like photo logging and I just found it to be a bit hit-or-miss. It might be worth sticking with MFP if you're already comfortable with it. Just my two cents!
