Lost 70 lbs at 200, but why does my leg day still suck?

TL;DR: Lost 70 lbs, still hating leg day. Anyone else struggle with this?

So, after 3 years of lifting and losing 70 lbs, u'd think my leg day would be lit, right? Wrong! I'm still struggling to squat 225 for reps and my legs be giving out like they're on a vacation. Anyone else feel like leg day is the ultimate betrayal? 馃槱 Like, I'm out here trying to slay the gym and my quads are like 'nah fam'. What gives?

Facts! Leg day can be such a betrayal. Like, I just crushed my upper body, and then my legs are like 'nah, not today'. Just keep pushing through, you'll get those gains!

With 5 kids, leg day is basically my cardio! 馃槀 I get it though, sometimes my legs are like jelly after a tough day. Maybe try turning it into a family workout? Kids can be great little motivators, and you'll have fun together while getting stronger.

I totally understand your frustration. After a significant weight loss, it's common for your body to take time to adjust. You might want to consider incorporating some mobility work or even some lighter, higher-rep sets to build endurance in your legs. Remember, it's about progress, not perfection. Celebrate those small wins along the way. Maybe even track your workouts to see how you're improving over time.

Struggling with squats after a big weight loss isn't uncommon. Your quads might still be adjusting to the load, or you could be dealing with some muscle imbalances. Make sure you're not skipping accessory work, like leg extensions or lunges, to help build that strength. Also, try focusing on your form - it can make a big difference.

I've only been lifting for a bit, but I feel you! I can barely squat my body weight, and I'm just like, why is leg day so rough? Have you tried different squat variations? I heard goblet squats are a game changer for form. Lowkey, they've helped me a lot.
