ADHD and meal prep, how do you stay consistent?

So I've got ADHD, and keeping my meal prep game strong feels like trying to catch a greased pig. I'm on a budget too, so takeout ain't an option. Anyone got tips to stay consistent without losing my mind? Serious answers only, no cap!

You know what, meal prep is overrated for some people! Sometimes you just gotta wing it and see what you end up with. Im not saying go full chaos, but a little spontaneity can work wonders.

I can relate to that chaos! With three kids and a busy schedule, I started using a simple schedule. I set aside a couple of hours on weekends to prep meals while they nap. It's a lifesaver, even if it means doing it with one eye open sometimes.

You can sneak protein into almost everything! I love using lentils or beans in stews and pasta. They're cheap and filling. Plus, if you do a big batch, you've got meals ready to go for the week.

Facts, keeping it simple is key! I follow a PPL routine, and I prep my post-workout meals ahead of time. It really helps with keeping my nutrition on point while not getting in my head about it.

Ngl, meal prepping isn't easy. I started out with simple snacks like cut veggies or yogurt cups, so I didn't feel the pressure of full meals. Gradually worked my way to main dishes. Small wins add up, trust me.

This may sound wild, but meal prepping is like lifting weights. Start light, get the form down, and then you can go heavier. Don't be too hard on yourself. Just like hitting PRs, consistency will come with time!

Mindfulness can really help in staying consistent! When I prep, I make it a calming ritual instead of a chore. Light some candles, put on your favorite playlist, and enjoy the process of nourishing yourself. Makes it feel less like a task.

I totally recommend checking out MacroFactor. It's super user-friendly and helps track your macros with minimal effort! I used to struggle with consistency too, but now I have a clear plan, plus it saves me from impulse snacking.

For real, meal prep can be tough! I try to get my kids involved. If they help cook, they're more likely to eat the food. Plus, we turn it into a fun family event, and I get some extra hands! But don't worry, I keep the hot sauce hidden.

I get it, meal prep can feel like a circus sometimes! For consistency, I try to batch cook on Sundays. Make a ton of stuff and portion it out for the week. Keeps me from losing my mind.

You might want to try some easy veggie recipes! Like, roasted chickpeas or quinoa bowls. Those are budget-friendly and you can make a big batch. Just toss whatever you have on hand, and you'll be rolling in flavor, not stress.

I hear you! A study found that meal prepping can significantly improve dietary adherence, especially for those with ADHD. Maybe consider starting with just one meal a day at first? Slowly building it up can help you feel less overwhelmed.
