Why does whole-food calorie matching feel like climbing Everest with a toddler on my back?

I swear, every time I try to match my calories with whole foods, it feels like I'm in a never-ending battle. Between packing school lunches and dodging snack requests, how am I supposed to measure out my quinoa and chicken? And don't get me started on the days when dinner turns into a 'what can I throw together' situation. Anyone else feel like they're training for a food challenge just to eat right?
