Carbon plate shoes: Are they worth the hype or just marketing BS?
I'm seeing all this buzz about carbon plate shoes in the running community and honestly, it's making me skeptical. For $250, they better make me feel like I'm floating on clouds! I get that they're designed to give you that extra bounce and improve efficiency, but is it really worth it?
I've been powerlifting for three years, so I'm used to investing in gear that actually helps performance. But with running, I feel like a lot of it is just marketing. Sure, faster times are great, but how much of that is the shoe versus good ol' training? Plus, it seems like the running world is just begging to find the next best thing while leaving behind good fundamentals. What do you all think? Anyone actually see a significant improvement with these shoes, or are they just a trendy fad? I'm all ears for some real talk!
