Running with arthritis? Anyone doing it long-term?

TL;DR: Looking for tips on running long-term with arthritis, any pizza-loving runners out there?

So, I've been running for a year now, and I love it almost as much as pizza (and that's saying something 🍕)! But I've got some pesky arthritis that's trying to throw a wrench in my pasta-fueled plans. I'm wondering if there are any fellow pizza-loving runners out there who manage to keep hitting the pavement with arthritis? How do you keep the good vibes rolling without turning your joints into spaghetti? Would love to hear ur tips or experiences!

Running with arthritis? That's like trying to eat pizza without cheese! 🥴 But seriously, listen to your body. Maybe switch up your running surface or consider softer shoes? Keeping it light can help your joints feel less like overcooked spaghetti!

If you're balancing running with arthritis, consider incorporating more stretching and yoga into your routine. It can really improve flexibility and mobility, which might ease the discomfort. Plus, it's a good way to unwind after a busy day

Also, don't overlook nutrition. Anti-inflammatory foods like turmeric and ginger can work wonders! I've been tracking my meals and making sure I include these foods. Staying hydrated is super important as well. Keeping joints lubricated helps with mobility.

Yeah, but running is like the cardio version of pizza! You gotta love it, or else it's just torture. Find what works for you, like shorter runs or even a run-walk combo! 🚶‍♀️🏃‍♂️

You know what? Pizza is a valid fuel! 😂 Just make sure you balance it with the right nutrients post-run. It's all about finding that delicious middle ground.

I've been running with arthritis for about 2 years now. It took a lot of trial and error to find what works, but I've found that cross-training with cycling and swimming helps reduce impact on my joints while still keeping up my cardio. It's all about balance, right? If you can, try low-impact workouts on your off days!

Mindfulness is key when managing pain while running. Try focusing on your breath and body alignment during your runs. Incorporating restorative yoga can help balance things out, too. Remember, listening to your body is essential.

I'd say track your mileage closely. If you notice more pain after a certain distance, dial it back a bit. It's easy to push too hard, especially when you're enjoying it. Listen to your body; it knows best.

Remember to stay gentle with yourself. Maybe consult a physical therapist who specializes in running injuries? They can provide personalized advice that might be invaluable as you navigate running with arthritis.

Low-key, managing your carbs could help too. I noticed my inflammation decreased when I switched to keto. Not saying it's the only way, but it worked for me! No more joint pain while running! 🍕

Ngl, I feel like running on keto has helped me manage inflammation. I mix in sprints with my runs, and it seems to keep my joints happy. Plus, those post-run keto pizzas taste even better! 🍕

As someone who tracks macros religiously, I'd suggest making sure you're getting enough protein and healthy fats in your diet. That might support joint health. And don't forget your electrolytes, especially if you're sweating a lot while running.

This sounds like a bad movie plot. 'The Running with Arthritis' - bro, just lift weights instead. It's way more fun and less hard on the joints.

Running with arthritis? Sounds like a recipe for disaster, lol. You might wanna switch to lifting, it's way more fun and way less joint pain. At least that's what my therapist says!

You guys are missing the bigger picture. Lifting is where it's at, cardio is just not worth the joint pain, especially with arthritis. Why put yourself through that? Switch to lifting for real gains.
