Is it normal to feel like I'm losing my mind during taper week?

TL;DR: Is it common to feel restless and anxious during taper week for a half-marathon?

So, I'm in taper week for my half-marathon and honestly, I think my brain is trying to run a marathon without my legs. You know the feeling when your legs are ready to sprint but your schedule is like, 'Whoa buddy, chill out'? It's like trying to take a dog for a walk but the dog is a racehorse!

I've been pacing around my house like a caged animal, while my running shoes just stare at me, mocking me silently. I've cut back on miles, and now I'm obsessively checking my Strava like I'm waiting for the next season of my favorite show to drop. Is this just a normal part of tapering, or is my brain trying to tell me I should have taken up knitting instead? Anyone else feel like they're going a bit loopy this week?

Taper week is wild! I remember pacing around like a kid before Christmas, just waiting to unleash my inner beast. My friend said it's like being on a food restriction when you really want to eat pizza. You're not alone in this mental struggle!

Facts, bro! It's like being a lion in a zoo. You wanna run but you're stuck with just a treadmill and some dumbbells. Maybe grab a pizza and chill, that's a solid strategy too.

Not to rain on your parade, but overthinking your taper can mess with your head! Your body is adapting, just trust the process. This is the time to recharge your mind and body so you can crush that half-marathon!

I totally get it! I found myself making a million yogurt bowls during my taper. You just gotta keep busy with snacks or planning your post-race treats. What's on your post-race menu?

Tapering can be an emotional rollercoaster. It's a time to rest but also a mental challenge. Try to channel that restless energy into some yoga or meditation. Embrace the stillness, it'll help center you before the race. Remember, rest is as important as training.

Man, taper week can feel like waiting for the WiFi to come back after a power outage. It's tough! Just embrace the craziness; I tried picking up painting to distract myself during my last taper. Totally bombed it, but at least I laughed.
