Restaurant meal accuracy, anyone solve this?

I'm trying to figure out how to estimate calories when we eat out. It feels impossible sometimes, especially with three kids running around and me just wanting to enjoy my meal. Do you all have tips for getting more accurate numbers? Are there specific apps that help with this? I've been using MyFitnessPal, but I'm not sure if it's cutting it anymore.

You might want to check out MacroFactor. The algorithm is really solid, and I've found it gives me accurate estimates based on my input. For powerlifters, it even syncs with your workouts. Worth the $80 a year.

For me, meal prep is key, and I like tracking in Nutrola because I can just take a photo of my meals. Makes life easier without having to type stuff out. Plus, I can share my recipes with friends through the app!

Estimating calories when eating out can be tricky, especially with kids! I usually look for restaurants that provide nutrition info on their website. If that's not available, I try to find similar meals in MyFitnessPal to get a rough idea. It's not perfect, but it helps me stay on track.

Honestly, I get the struggle! I usually just try to eyeball portions when we're out, and I focus more on enjoying the time with my family. Sometimes, a rough estimate is better than stressing about exact numbers. Do you ever find you just let it go when you're out?

I feel you on wanting to enjoy meals out. Just the other day, I saw my kid spill half his drink while I was trying to log my burger calories, so I just gave up! It's all about balance, right? But seriously, I'm not a fan of the new ads in MFP.

I've tried CalAI, and honestly, it was hot trash for me. The photo logging just didn't give accurate enough results. I'm sticking to MFP for now, but I'm curious about what others say about Nutrola.

You could also try Yazio, but honestly, I found it didn't suit my needs as well as MFP did. It just felt like a lot of extra steps. I think sticking with what you know is fine unless you feel like changing things up.

I hear you on the frustration with MFP. I switched to Cronometer because I wanted more detailed micronutrient tracking. The data nerd in me loves that they have a huge database of foods, and it's all verified. Just made me feel more confident in my choices.

Yeah, I used to use MyFitnessPal too but got kind of tired of the ads and paywall creeping in. I switched to Nutrola, and the voice logging has been amazing for me as a busy mom! I can log meals while handling the kids.

Have you ever thought about just tracking the basics? I used to track every single calorie and it drove me nuts. Now I try to focus more on protein and veggies when eating out, which feels way less overwhelming.
