How do I know if I'm lifting too heavy as a newbie?

I've been lifting for a bit now, and I'm starting to feel the pressure to push myself with heavier weights. I want to challenge myself, but I also don't want to risk injury. How heavy is too heavy when you're just starting out? I know form is super important, but sometimes it feels like I might be straining a bit too much just to lift that next plate. Any advice on how to gauge what's appropriate without going overboard? I want to build strength safely and effectively!

Strength training is a journey, not a sprint. The pressure to lift heavier often leads us to compromise our form, which can cause injuries. Embrace the weight that allows you to lift with control. As Rippetoe says, 'Squat low, but squat clean.' Trust the process of building strength, and you will appreciate the gains down the line

Listen, it's all about knowing your limits. I started lifting heavier too soon and ended up hurting my back. Aim for a weight where u can maintain good form for at least 8-10 reps. If you're straining hard and your form is breaking, drop that weight, sister.

Facts! When I started, I was so eager to lift heavy. I ended up pulling a muscle just trying to add weight to my squat. Now, I make sure to really focus on form first, and then I gradually increase weight. Safety first!

You gotta listen to your body, man. If you feel like you're straining too much, then you probably are! I always tell my kids that it's not about how much you lift, but how well you lift it. Quality over quantity, bro!

Bro, if you're struggling to lift that next plate, you might be approaching that 'too heavy' zone. I've seen it happen with my buddies. You don't want to be the dude who gets pinned under a barbell. Keep it chill and focus on your form. You'll progress way faster.
