Yazio just paywalled my barcode scanner, anyone else?
So here I am, trying to be all responsible and track my calories, right? im using Yazio because it looked decent enough and I liked the barcode scanner feature. Well, guess what? They decided to slap a paywall on it like it's some exclusive club now. Like, what the actual hell? I thought this was a calorie tracker, not a VIP lounge!
I've tried using the manual entry, but it's like trying to find Waldo in a sea of red and white stripes. Seriously, how is it that half the foods I eat aren't even in their database? I mean, I can't be the only one who eats non-GMO, organic, free-range kale chips, right? I tried out MyFitnessPal for like a hot minute, but I wasn't a fan of the ads and the overwhelming number of food entries that just didn't match up with reality.
So now I'm sitting here wondering if it's just me or if everyone else is feeling the sting of this paywall nonsense. Is there any other app that doesn't treat you like you're a broke college student just trying to eat a salad? Please tell me there's hope out there, because I'm starting to feel like I'm going to have to resort to just guessing my meals and hope for the best. Can anyone recommend an alternative with a solid barcode scanner? Or am I doomed to live in a world of manual entries? Help a bro out.
