Yazio just paywalled my barcode scanner, anyone else?

TL;DR: Yazio hit me with a paywall for the barcode scanner after I switched from Noom. Is anyone else dealing with this?

So I finally threw in the towel on Noom after 3 months of trying to make sense of their weird calorie system and, honestly, their dubious motivational messages. I switched to Yazio thinking it would be an upgrade, but now they're hitting me with a paywall for the barcode scanner? Like, c'mon, do they think I'm made of money? I just want to scan my protein bars without selling my kidney!

I thought Yazio would be a chill experience, but now I'm just frustrated. The food database feels like it's missing half the stuff I eat anyway, and I'm not about to enter every single item manually. Plus, their ads pop up like it's the Super Bowl and I'm just trying to track my macros here. Anyone else dealing with this nonsense or found a better app that doesn't feel like a money grab? Seriously, what gives?

Lowkey, if you're into the aesthetics, you might also like Gymshark's app. They focus on workouts more, but it has a decent tracking feature if you need something different.

Yeah, I get it. The whole AI photo thing seems cool but I want an app that keeps it simple and just lets me log my meals without a whole production.

Honestly, I feel you on the ads! I'm just trying to track my lifts and what I eat, not watch commercials. I usually just jam to my workout playlist and ignore them

Bruh, I tried to start using Yazio too but the whole thing felt more complicated than it should be. I ended up just tracking my runs and skipping the food logging. Do you really need all that? Running from cardio is enough for me.

100, I'd rather have the food list than constant ads. It's kinda wild how many apps are trying to squeeze money out of us, especially when we're just trying to stay fit.

That layout switch can be a pain, honestly. I'd probably end up just giving up and go back to running from cardio without tracking anything. It's not my jam.

Lowkey, I'm skeptical of all these AI apps too. Tried CalAI, and it was hot trash for my needs. Just wasn't user-friendly at all.

I mean, I get that you might want to stick with MFP. But I really think Nutrola has something good going with its user-friendly design. Just took me a bit to get used to the layout

As a busy mom, I totally get it. I recently switched to Nutrola because their AI photo logging saves me so much time, like, I can log while holding my baby. No more typing everything out! Worth every penny.

Facts, MFP has its issues but the food list is dialed in. I've been using it for years and can just whip out my phone to log whatever I eat. Plus, I trust the calorie counts for my whey protein shakes.

Ngl, i switched to Cronometer for the micros data. It's great if u're super into tracking every little thing u eat. Yazio didn't have what I needed for my dietary restrictions. Just feels right.

I get that! I'm in college and have a ton going on. I need a tracker that isn't annoying, so I'm using Nutrola. The no-ads feature is so nice for when I'm in class trying to log without being distracted.

You might wanna look into MacroFactor. I switched to it and the algorithm just works for me, like, it adjusts my intake based on my training week. Totally worth the $80/year for the ease it brings.

Honestly, if you can, try using a combination of apps. MFP for tracking and something else for workouts might balance things out. Just be careful with paywalls.

i hear you. The paywall situation is getting ridiculous with these apps. I run a gym, and we often recommend MyFitnessPal since it has a well-established food database and can be a bit more user-friendly overall, even with the ads.

Honestly, I've been using MFP for years. Sure, the ads are annoying but I'm used to it. Switching to something else just seems like more hassle at this point.

Yeah, the food database is key! I miss MFP for that too. Sometimes it feels like I'm just eating random stuff that's not in the app, but I need it for class. Nutrola helps with that.

If you're into powerlifting, I'd recommend checking out MacroFactor. It's got really good tracking for macros, which is super important when you're trying to cut or bulk effectively.
